Not sure if this appeared in any of the other threads, but I though there is enough on here to for a thread of its own. A pretty interesting Interview all in all. Burnsy talks to Bruce Burnsy talks to Bruce 2 Burnsy talks to Bruce 3 These are nothing to do with me - thanks are to @GemmaLDillon on twitter. Seems our speculation about the Evertonian Greek may have been a bit wide of the mark.
We're after two bosmans, so Faye and who? It's probably not Bruce jnr because apparently they're sought after, so I wonder who the other is?
i like Bruce... not sure what the dinner lady stuff is all about to be fair, I always thought he seemed he was a top bloke. Really good interview.
It is a good interview. Bruce is a nice guy when the pressures off and he's relaxed. I went off him listening to him moan and whine every Saturday night when things don't go his way. He's also one of those irritating managers who start sentences like "I don't like to talk about referees but..." and then talks about the referee. Or "I don't usually criticise but..." and then criticises!
Thanks a lot putting this up, for us ex pats it nice to hear these interviews, and it is refreshing to hear SB talk in an open way, as much as he can of cause.
A great listen Steve Bruce.....and a block of cement is more interesting that Nigel Pearson was. imo.
The two free agents he mentioned are sought after. I'd say it's unlikely to be a Greek no-one has ever heard of. It's going to be a relatively big-name player from the PL or the NPC last season. What about Paul Anderson?
"North of £2m" I wonder how North we're talking. "Five or six outfield players" I assume that includes Proschwitz - either way it's a hell of a lot better than the originally stated "three or four"
Agreed. Glad he sees the need to bring in a few players. At one point it seemed like we might be as thin as we were last season. The way I took it was that the two Greek trialists were Bosmans, he wasn't talking about anyone else was he? Also, I like hown he described his son as being "27 or 28" - does he not know?!
I'm not sure, I read it as two Greeks PLUS two other "sought after" bosmans. Unless there are some highly rated, well-known Greeks that we're all forgetting, I assume they're separate duos. Plus I'm still convinced that one of the two Greeks is Vasilis Koutsianoashfdoabhoahoiashi. I think that's the right spelling. Anyway, if he is, he's not a bosman so that wouldn't fit - did Bruce actually mention whether or not the Greeks were available for free?
I seem to remember €2.7m being mentioned. If that's true, there's your £2.15m. Slightly north of £2m
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angelos_Charisteas He is without a club, but also out of form sports Polish Fansite - http://www.hullcityafc.info
Perhaps th other Greek trialist is Dimitris Salpingidis, he's contract at PAOK has come to an end so he may be on trial at other clubs
I hope your referring to the other free transfer rather than one of the Greek trialists. If not check your nationalities. A Hungarian salad does not consist of feta, olives, red onion, tomatoes cucumber, olive oil, lemon juice or red wine vinegar and oregano.
