Connor Wickham? I'm sorry but would have disappointed if we'd payed what they paid for him,and imo not good enough for the prem. Over hyped!
Amazing really. Not that he's gone, that was very likely and is the way of the football world, but I really thought they were looking like a strong side this year, with all those signings. Just shows you never can tell!
He's a very average Manager is fat head. Although Keane spent far more than him and didn't do any better there.
When you think of ex Man U players though I can't think of many that do that well once leaving old trafford.
Remember Brian Robson? Despite messing up every Club he went to he still kept getting jobs! Must have had the best agent in the business.
Arse Boils will be one of the 'sack race' favourites with Steve Kean now Bruce has gone... 12th Dec: Chelsea v Man City, put it in your diary - Arse Boils lanced!...
8 mill for Wickham and 13 mil for Gian (?) 21 mil wasted, don't care how good a manager you are 21 mill on 1 failure and 1 potential failure puts you on shaky ground. Let alone buying Man U reserves.......and we saw what happened to them tonight against Palace.
Wickham will come good. Gyan wasn't expected to go but some lot from Qatar came offering to double his wages and he wanted off, plus a £6million loan fee meant Sunderland could hardly turn it down. I think £6m for Craig Gardner was a bit of a waste but they've sold Bent for £20m or so and Henderson for roughly the same so they've done alright in terms of net spend. Brown has done well there while O'Shea has looked ****. They've got a few very useful players but Bruce just seems to have run out of ideas and they can't put the ball in the net.
Great post Sooper, some good comments on this thread too. Sometimes it's nice to read stuff about other clubs written by our own not606 family members, other than just QPR related posts. For instance, the rememberence Sunday thread. Some really interesting and thought provoking stuff on that one. Maybe we should throw a random topic, un-QPR related every once in a while. ( Should Redknapp be the next England manager? If not who? ) For instance. Judging by the quality and intellect of some of posters, it would make a great read.
