Steve Bruce has admitted it will be âvery difficultâ for record signing Asamoah Gyan to return to Sunderland after his loan at Al Ain. The Ghanaian striker threw Bruceâs Premier League plans into chaos when he opted to move to the UAE at the end of the transfer window, and in so doing quadrupling his wages apparently. Bruce claims the door is open on a return when his loan ends but admits it would be difficult for the fans to welcome him back with open arms following his exit. âI would have to say now that it would be very, very difficult for him to return,â Bruce told talkSPORT. âFor our supporters to welcome him back with open arms would be difficult but the door is open. It was a deal that suited everybody in the end.â âI would have to say now that it would be very, very difficult for him to return. âItâs part of the modern game, I can understand it if youâre 35 and have had your career and then you go for one last swan-song before you hang up your boots. I reminded him that heâs 25 and African Player of the Year. âI just couldnât believe he decided or wanted just to give that all up and to stop playing in the biggest and best league in the world and to go and play in a league where the average attendance is 250-300 people. âSometimes people are driven in different circumstances and it was sad the way it ended up. I do think that it's sad that he's effectively had his career ruined because of this decision, he was such a talent that it just seems like a huge waste.

I do believe they [players] get their heads turned by chasing after hoofballs from a midfield that didn't know what 'passing' meant, all day on their own and surrounded by defenders. Show Asamoah Gyan a settled midfield of Larsson, Gardener, Vaughan and Sess, and I think he'd be more enthusiastic about coming back here than he was first time around. And we'd see a Gyan better than we'd ever seen before. It's not up to him, Steve - it's up to you. Quit the hoofball to a single stranded striker, or forget keeping any of them.
Get what we can for him when his money making is over and move him on asap not sure many PL teams will look at him now.
Sorry but that's utter bollocks, do you honestly believe he will be playing with QUALITY players with Al Ain? don't think so Cuty, he went for the money and nothing else, if you think otherwise i think you're clutching at straws. He knew full well what the squad is capable of, he trained with them every day, plus he went on record saying his family had a say in his decision, MONEY orientated and nothing else IMO.
His head went down long before Al-Ain came in. Once they came in ... well, I'd like to quadruple my wages too! I think he went there for the money too, but it wasn't what was making him unhappy here. He told the Ghanaian press in April that Sunderland seemed a bit disorganised and that he wasn't too happy here. If we go back to that midfield system of last season, Bendtner will leave after one year as well. I don't want us to lose a hat-trick of good strikers, do you?
Bruce knows a lot about business doesn't he... You've got an asset that looks like it's up for sale, what do you do? Do you talk about how valuable it is? No, you talk about it being surplus to requirements do to your customer base not liking the asset and wanting rid. Good lad, way to get his asking price up.

Gyan is a ****ing spunk trench he has dropped us in the ****e ****ing off when we cant replace him. I dont want him back he can go and get ****ed & so can his agent.

He also told the world (UK) press the day before his move that he was very happy at Sunderland and was delighted to be playing for Steve Bruce and how good the fans are etc, etc. I don't deny that he wasn't on top form, he was way off what we know he can do and i'd also make the move for quadruple my wages but at least i'd have the balls to admit it. I really can't understand how anyone can't see the motives behind all this. Playing for s hit team, in a **** country in front of 200-300 fans every week????? 4 x wages????? no brainer to me.
