I've just read an article that was saying we signed 15 year old Brooklyn Beckham to our under 16s.

Thought it was quite interesting and worth a mention on here!

Let's hope he can take a free kick like his dad!

Let's hope he can actually play, if we get him into our first team we can make some good merchandise money off his name, which I'm sure our club no doubt are thinking about.

Hmm, I can't help but feel this is more a case of nepotism rather than talent. The kid seems overly fixated on becoming an Instagram/Youtube star. There's very little footage available of him playing football.

Surprised there hasn't been more media attention on it and that we haven't started milking the name :p

Turns out both the other Beckham boys play at arsenal as well for the under 13s and under 10s.

Shrewd move by us. The name is very marketable and if anyone of them can remotely kick a ball, then we can milk them like a fat cow that hasn't been milked for a month.

This pretty much, he's been signed in order to make a player of him most likely as I reckon he is currently not up to the standard you'd need to be to be signed by Arsenal at 15, football must be your life and with [insert stupid name] football is most certainly not his life.

Simply put, had Becks not been his Dad, he'd not have been anywere near Arsenal's yout set-up

I bet none of them make the Arsenal first team, unless they are unlike their dad and can actually play football.

One wonders how much Becks "donated" for Arsenal's youth setup to be creche for the Becks kids<laugh>

Utter ****e. There are probably so many kids out there who way more talent but because this kid has a famous dad he gets his chance ahead of those more deserving, but I guess that's the way this world works.

It's more about the financial aspect than the footballing side. Let's face it, he won't be good enough to get anywhere near our first team but he'll be brought out for a few token games to increase our advertising/profile. Just imagine the shirt sales from having Beckhams name printed on a shirt in the far-east for example. For a lot of people it's more about image than actual substance.

    You dont know that.
Look at Frank Lampard! People used to whine about him only coming through at West Ham cos his dad was a coach there and his uncle the manager. He silenced a few of them didnt he?
    Give him a chance.

On the flip side there are other examples, such as Jordi Cruyff.......but you never know.

I agree, people want to write others off at times just because they are famous or as in this case have famous parents, the lad might be good nobody seems to know much about his abilty so why not give him a chance.

I imagine he's been playing since he could stand up and having kick abouts with some of the worlds best. Strange a pro club hasn't come in for him until now. I'm ready to give him a chance. Any ideas on his position etc?

Lamps always had the ability, there was never doubt he'd be a very good player, the hammers some really good players at that time too. If he was **** he was never getting in the first team

I knew that, you knew that.
But there were lots of Spammers who whined and moaned about Lamps, saying he shouldn't be in the team and there were other players who they thought were better.

You must have seen the Scott Canham row? When Redknapp ripped in to a fan for questioning why Lampard was retained but some guy called Scott Canham was released.
