Ward today has confirmed that he is confident that Broghammer will remain with Rovers. Ward said: "His agent travelled across from Germany to discuss the matter and I was delighted with the outcome of that meeting. I was told that Fabian was keen to return and I think we will formally conclude that deal shortly. It is great news for us because I think Fabian really has a lot to offer us going forward. He's not essentially what you would class as a young player at 23, but he is young in terms of his experience of playing football in the English leagues. The demands are very different to those he would have faced at the level he was playing at in Germany, but he learned a lot very quickly and has certainly become a stronger player for the experience of last season. There is a bit of naivety about him because he is still learning, but I am excited when I think about the potential he has. It is now my job and that of my coaching staff to see if we can coax that out of him over the next 12 months. With a full pre-season behind him, I'm looking for Fabian to give us some real good balance on that left-hand side. He's a rarity in that he is an out-and-out left-winger, of which there are very few about and I'd like to exploit that. There are many left-sided midfield players around, but I'm not sure you could name more than half-a-dozen out-and-out left wingers around the lower leagues, so I'm pleased that we have one available to us in our squad."
I hope he does. On the OS there's many who don't rate him but he's still a youngster learning his trade and can never be faulted for effort or attitude. With good coaching I'm sure he'll improve further...and anyone with a good left foot is worth having. He may well develop as Smith did.
great shout. smith been amazing season just gone. if hammer can improve anwhere near as smith has done, then we will have a great winger on our hands.
I think he'll have a great season. For the first time in a long time we've got a bunch of players who already have an understanding, so let's hope they get out of the blocks and really make it count in the early stages.
Great potential adapted well in first season needs to be stronger in the tackle to provide more cover. One def to watch as he improves over next season. COR
Hammer has agreed a 1 year deal although contracts have yet to be signed. Ward said: "I have spoken to Fabian and we have another year’s contract with him, it kicked in anyway with the agreement that had been made. We are looking forward to another season with him. Although Fabian is 23, he has probably only played about 10 or 12 games a season so far, and when you come across to England with the intensity we play at, it is a tough ask. Last season would have stood him in good stead. He found it tough, but he really enjoyed it. I am hoping to get a good pre season in with him, and he had certainly got talent.” Good news
Great news some of them won't like this on the OS Forum all they do is talk **** about him of course there all professional footballers themselves
he has potential. i hope he really commits just like smithy did and look how smithy has turned out. if smithy has another great season, he could be the next big sale!
