Broghammer is set to make his long awaited return to action in a development team game against Swindon at the training ground tomorrow (12pm). The Hammer has not played since suffering a nasty knee injury in a pre season last July. Darrell Clarke said: "The plan is for Fabian to start the game. It will be good to see him back in action, but it would be silly to expect too much too soon from him after being out for so long." Seanan Clucas is also expected to play in a bid to improve his match sharpness after a season that has been hampered by injury. Clarke, meanwhile, is hopeful that Danny Woodards will be fit to return to the squad for the game against Torquay United at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Chris Beardsley is also expected to be â100 per centâ after struggling with a minor knee complaint for the last seven days. Taken from the Post.
Bit late for the Hammer to make any impact this season - maybe he'd be match fit for the last couple of games? I'd like to see him and Kaid playing out wide - width and pace down the flanks we haven't had this season.
that would be good to see! them both would terrorise most teams but in a 442 formation and playing o'toole in midfield who likes to get forward a lot, we would be left short in the middle and inviting pressure on the defence. maybe a 451 would suit 2 wingers with a big man up front but people dont like 1 up front. its pretty hard to decide really waht formation to play and what players to play in it!
Gough Southway Anderson Keary Triallist(not Jake Green) Ward-Baptiste Clucas Goddard Broghammer Harrison Harding 4-4-2 Had to leave half-time; 0-1 to a strong Swindon side, incl. Ward and Harley Brog our best player; lively, strong and fit. Took all the set-pieces. Looks ready for Saturday. Stewart on half-way line i/c of team. Ward and Clarke standing together throughout first half.
rovers twitter account shows same team line up p49 but unfortunately it dont show who the trialist is. i was hoping they would name him! good news that hammer looks ready for saturday. should hopefully be a nice surprise for torquay!! if stewart is in charge then i guess that makes him clarks assistant??
some tweets about todays game..... "Rovers are on top in the early stages, no clear-cut opportunities as of yet." "Ellis Harrison forces a good save from the Swindon keeper." "GOAL: Swindon take the lead through a Jamie Reckford header 32 mins." "HT: Bristol Rovers 0-1 Swindon Town." "Bristol Rovers have enjoyed the majority of the possession but haven't created any clear chances." "Game over swindon won 1-0."
Sounds like the trialist was an 82 youngster called Pierce Mitchell - Stewart sounded quite impressed with him: http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristo...oung-Bristol/story-20928684-detail/story.html
