For those of you who havnt been following the test match today , Stuart Broad got a hat-trick today against India in the 2nd test match (PEA, that means 3 wickets in 3 consecutive balls) - what made me laugh was that the 2nd out of the 3 was a big inside-edge given out LBW - and India have refused to allow DRS ! - laugh

There's some real funny stories on the radio about missing the hat-trick - a vicar stopped listening for 20 minutes to complete tomorrow's sermon, switched back on and missed five wickets and a family travelling back from France had the radio on for 750km, went into The Tunnel and missed the lot!

    Tremendous performance.

I'm just waiting for Tendulkar to be given out LB off a big inside-edge - now that would make me really laugh !

Ponders may I suggest lots of coffee, no sleep and 24/7 watching of cricket until you learn to appreciate it. I'm no doctor but I feel he would prescribe the same thing.

Stunning series so far, loving every second of it.

I would rather have both my eyes burned out with red hot needles than sit through a day's cricket BUT I would rather sleep through a day's cricket than be made to watch a day's snooker!

    Please god "let it rain"

I've been in meetings all day and haven't heard any news, so I've just watched the highlights in total disbelief - how can World class batsmen like Dhoni and Tendulkar pad up to straight balls like that?

I said on this site a couple of weeks ago that we'd win the series, I didn't expect us to be this dominant.

Good for that kid from the Nottingham ground staff as well, kept his nerve well for those two catches.

England are like the Australians of a decade ago. When a player is needed to step up to the plate one does. To go from 124-8 in the first innings and then the opposition at 260-4, and end up winning by 350 odd runs is an amazing achievement. Let's hope Powell is the Andy Flower of the football world...

    Good one Tewkes.

Yes, very good about Scott Elstone. He was on Sky Sports being interviewed and the presenter asked him if he joined in the celebrations, and he said 'no, i just went home to Mum and Dad !' - not quite at the Freddie Flintoff level of celebrating yet then !

Agree with SJH, the sign of a great side is there is always someone who steps up when the going gets tough. When you consider in the Ashes, it was effectively the Trott and Cook show, and they have done nothing this series, whereas everyone else has stepped up.- brilliant , i love it.

That's a lovely story, Stu - wish I'd seen that.

Even if he never makes it in the game, what a memory to have...

I think Gary Pratt - the sub fielder who ran Ponting out in 2005 didn't make it in the game. Still, what a story to tell people...particularly with the response from Ponting...

Gary Pratt - apparently now playing for Cumbria. However, everyone will always ask him about THAT run-out.

Scott Elstone was tiny as well, you expected his mother to run onto the pitch and drag him home for his tea!
