I'll wait until the end of transfer window and perhaps who we have in on loan mate before passing judgement.

Very easy to become despondent, however if we sign a couple of gems they will be very much worth the wait.

Fuller will be on big money at Charlton too........

Forgot Baldock to Brizzle, good work by them!

Sounds like we missed loads of chances today, need another decent striker.

Surprised by Bristol actually, looks like they've got a couple of decent additions, where have they got their money from???

I think patience is key, we've got a good little squad here I think and they all look like they are working for each other. Scotland and Drury sounded like they made a difference tonight, good to see we've got a bit of quality to come on. We definitely need players but lets make sure they're the right one's, we need to evolve as a team, wouldn't want to upset the applecart.

Just heard Zola's interview gave high praise to our performance, very humble in defeat!!

Agreed ptc. We have to pay for the right players, not just panic buy to get numbers in. We can use the loan market wisely to fill the gaps whilst we build our squad.

for a team that has missed out on ALL their targets I wonder how Loach and Chambers have managed to play in 3 matches this season so far

Sorry, meant striking targets!! Squad is way to thin at the moment, yes we are playing well but what happens when we get a few injuries!!

The whole first team squad is thin but I think its more important to have the right squad here rather than a larger squad paying players who we dont think are good enough for the team.
Personally I am more worried about the defence than attack. JET, Martin, Stevenson, Murray can all stand in if Chopra and Scotland are injured but we have either the donkey or youngsters with little game time behind them if we have problems at the back

I don't get it. We have complained in the past about having too many old players and not giving the youth a chance. Now that we have the likes of Ainsley and Murray on the bench people bitch about the squad being thin. How are these players supposed to improve if they are not part of the first team set up and maybe get a chance through an injury to someone else? Maybe it would be an idea to loan our youngsters out and bring other, more experienced loanees in for cover. At the moment we have cover for most positions, although some inexperienced, but they need to be blooded at some time surely.

Its ad difficult one isnt it San Diego. With the likes of Murray I have no problems with him being on the bench as we have various options and can hopefully introduce him when the time is right.
At the back though we currently dont have the luxury of choosing whether to bring on a youngster and give him game time or whether to add an experienced head. Any injury would mean a youngster who has no first team experience will automatically get put into the first team, which is a slightly better option than Delonkey. Personally, if we could ship out Delonkey and bring in an experienced player with a bit of versatility, I would be a lot happier with our options.

Of course I want to see us have as strong a squad as possible, loaning Ainsley out and bringing in a more experienced CB on loan would be perfect. I'm not against loans, I would just prefer to have them as cover rather than taking places in the first eleven away from players we own. Trouble is, clubs don't want to loan you their players if they are only going to sit on your bench. There's just no winning with some people though, too much experience = moan, youthful bench = moan. I think we will benefit more from having a smaller squad. Less people to keep happy with game time and the first eleven playing together week in/week out, which can only benefit our performances. It's better to have a settled squad, people get to know each better etc. This is the same for anyone taking a new job. It's taken me a year to really 'get in' with the people I work with.
