With the new season looming large it is time to kick off the prediction league again, renamed in memory of our sadly departed and much missed friend and hands down winner of this in its inaugural season. Many thanks again to superdoopahoopsa for running the competition last season.

The rules remain simple. You need to predict the result in Q.P.R.’s match and name the goal scorers. The exact score will get you 5 points, the correct type of result (i.e. QPR win, draw or that other possibility which we will gloss over at this point) will get 2 points and each correct scorer will gain a bonus point. I’m sure that you have all got enough common sense to predict the right number of scorers to match the score you’ve given. It couldn’t be easier.

So, if I predict that QPR will win 3 – 1, with Johnson, Austin and Sutherland (oh yeah) to score for us and Antonio to score for them and it happens I would get 9 points. If we win 2 – 0 with Johnson and Zamora (yes, I know how ridiculous that looks!) scoring I’d get 3 points. If we lose 2 – 0 with Antonio scoring both, I’d get 1 point as I only predicted he’d score once. You can change your prediction at any point up until kick off time according to the Not 606 clock (beware it always seems a little fast to me) by editing your original post, not by making a new one.

For both our cup matches and the interminable international breaks I’ll put up some form of variant with bonus points available.

I’m going for the ridiculously optimistic approach and sticking with the 3 – 1 as above, what are your predictions for QPR v Sheffield Wednesday?

3-0 to the R's. Haven't a clue who will be the goalscorers as I've no idea which players will be left at the club come Saturday.

    2-0 R's, Granero, Hoilett.

There will be a very low goals against prediction from me for the whole season. Not because I trust Rob Green, but because I know the names of very few championship players. Except Mackie, who is nailed on for a hat-trick.

I'm going for 4-0 to the Owls on the basis that I expected comfortable home wins at the start of the last 2 campaigns.

As I've said before, we lack creativity.

This is going to be tough as I know feck all about Championship teams with us out of it the last 2 seasons. I knew there was a reason I should have stayed up all hours to watch the FL show or whatever it's called these days.

I'll say 2-0 QPR with the scorers AJ & Zamora. I am only saying nil for Wednesday as I don't know any of their players, honestly.

PS, thanks for organising Roller, appreciate it.
