I've an office job, there is nothing worse than being inside when the sun is splitting the trees. If it was up to me it would be dark until just before lunch time, so I have plenty of light when I get out of work post 5pm.
Funny how these Tories despise everything about Europe but when it comes to something that's beneficial to the south of England but not to the north they want to embrace it with open arms.
Doesn't matter the time in Scotland, during the winter (and the spring and the summer and the autumn) it's always ****in dark!
GMT for me. The sun should be at its highest point in the sky at midday. You want it to be light when you leave work then start work earlier. Most places I've worked had flexi time with core hours 10am-4pm so you could leave at 4pm.
Can't start earlier when the kids need to be in school and I need to correspond across the country with other people who should be in work at a similar time to me. There needs to be a society change to make this work.
Well I work in Guernsey these days, but yes I'd like dark mornings and light nights so that it's light by the time I leave work. During the darkest months of the year in Belfast you go into work when it's dark and leave work when it's dark - and Belfast is a bit further south that Newcastle so I imagine most of northern England and all Scotland are the same.
**** Europe, the EU is more corrupt than the old Soviet Union. They don't understand that no means no whenever a country votes against them. They made the Irish keep voting untill they got the result they wanted. I wonder if they would have had to vote again if the first one was a yes? I hope the whole thing comes crashing down & all those corrupt EU PIG SCUM with their noses in the trough end up destitute.
I suppose it's all set up for the convenience of southern England as where I come, in December, it gets light at 8am and dark at 4pm which just gives the kiddies time to get home from school while it's still light.
Used to work 12 hour nights, went to work in the dark and came home in the dark (during winter), only saw daylight at the weekend.
I'd keep it as it is. We've used it for ages, it works well, so why change it, and probably muck everything up.
If the EU gets their way we will end up like the US with one central government and smaller federal governments with little real power. Now there's a frightening thought for Halloween
