This week is British Pie Week so what's your favourite? Do you like a steak & kidney, chicken and mushroom, minced beef and onion, Scotch mutton or a fish pie best? Do you prefer a more exotic one like a Venison and Double Chocolate Stout Pie? Or would you skip savoury ones entirely and go straight for an apple or rhubarb pie? Personally, I'd go for the classic combination of a steak & Guinness pie followed by a big hairy pie.
I love pies - too many to choose from. From the ones above, I prefer a chicken and leek pie to chicken and mushroom. Steak and Ale's a corker Cannae whack a spiced mutton pie, though - Scotland's gift to the world
All of them. Add to that the haggis round. Slap a tin o' beans on that when ye canny be bothered cooking something proper.
She makes a crackin turkey and leek pie. It's amazing. She makes enough for 4 and I eat the lot then lay out on the couch and canny move for about 2 hours afterwards.
Thoroughbred, me. Eat what the **** I like and barely any fat on me. Gettin a wee bit of tummy on me now but I carry it well.
Ahm gonny have to have a pie fur ma dinner the night now. Nip doon the butchers at lunch time see what he's got. Yum.
Ahm no averse to getting a ready made one oot the supermarket when ahm feelin a bit lazy, but it's got to be the butchers for a proper pie. I'm thinking steak n' kidney. No had one of those in quite a while.
