A footballer who was jailed for causing the deaths of two siblings while speeding has avoided another prison sentence for drink-driving. Former Manchester City and England youth player Courtney Meppen-Walter has received a 22-month driving ban after being more than twice the legal alcohol limit in Manchester last month. He told magistrates he was "embarrassed" at his latest driving offence after he was previously jailed for 16 months in 2013 for causing the deaths of Kulwant Singh, 32, and his sister, Ravel Kaur, 37, by careless driving. The defender - who was 18 at the time - hit the pair's Nissan Micra in a high-powered Mercedes C220 saloon after "playing games" with a friend in another car along a nearby dual carriageway in September 2012. He was travelling at nearly double the 30mph speed limit and hit the Nissan as it emerged from a side street in Manchester. https://news.sky.com/story/courtney...deaths-spared-jail-for-drink-driving-11597060
