Almost a fist fight at work regarding this. The Chelskum supporters expected everyone British to have supported them in the Champions League last night because they were playing foreigners. When it was suggested that following their exit they should now support Celtic this was dismissed as "They aren't even Scottish, they are Irish and that doesn't count" (interspersed with quite a fair sprinkling of "Faaaaakin Caaaaants" and references to "Paddys, bombers, and potatoes) Personally I am chuffed to bits that Chelsea went out, I can't stand them and will only be glad when they have buried the lot of them in Stamford Bridge and covered the corpses with quick lime. Just saying. As I support a team that look like we will be playing Johnson's Paint trophy football in the not too distant future why on earth should I be expected to give any backing to a team we consider to be rivals? I don't give a flying feck about any of the English or Scotty teams in Europe. So do any of you blindly support ANY British team regardless of your club loyalty?
When it was suggested that following their exit they should now support Celtic this was dismissed as "They aren't even Scottish, they are Irish and that doesn't count" (interspersed with quite a fair sprinkling of "Faaaaakin Caaaaants" and references to "Paddys, bombers, and potatoes) And that's actually correct.
I don't normally care about other British teams but I do love the fact that two of the biggest spenders in the world have been ****ed out of the CL and, in Man City's case, out of Europe completely. I used to support whoever played Rangers but, like them, it doesn't matter any more.
I won't be supporting any teams in Europe, as my team does not compete in it this season. If they were in it then I would be attending their games, watching them on the box, backing the lads all the way. I don't think you could consider yourself a proper fan if you refuse to watch your team even on the box. Follow them through thick and thin. I will watch a few games and no doubt the CL final but other than that couldn't give a ****.
I was always keen to see Chelsea and Arsenal pumped out Blackburn Rovers had my support Kind of wanted Spurs to do well on their CL debut, not so much Man City because of the talent they waste sitting at home never mind the bench I grew out of the "hate all English teams" doctrine we get fed up here Basically I go for underdogs and against whomever has acted like a **** that week
No he doesn't. I bet I've been to more games than you despite the fact you started watching football when Stanley Matthews were a lad.
Don't mind seeing Arsenal win and like United to win because I want them to beat Liverpool's 5 cups which will really set off the beelometer. Like to see Liverpool get pumped but other than that not too fussed. Then again I do like to see Barca get beat as I'm sick to death of the constant veneraton of the side.
I doubt it very much Sambo. You are your typical glory hunting armchair fan. I started going to games in 1972. You've probably been to the theatre more times than me though.
No. You didn't start going to matches until you were in your 30s? Aye. But at least I don't make lists of my favourite musicals like yourself.
Which are then bought into sides at the expense of youngsters form engalnd, Scotland, Wales NI and RoI which is why all our teams are now ****e. The premiership is now like the X Factor whilst the real football is in the championship.
