More LIVERPOOL shirts sold in Bristol than on Merseyside according to Sports Direct study. please log in to view this image STAGGERING results from retail company Sports Direct have revealed that more Liverpool shirts are sold in Bristol than on Merseyside. Figures released say 7.09% of jerseys are brought in the City with London topping the charts with 50.07% and Dublin trailing just behind with 9.18%. Liverpool itself came fourth in the results poll. No doubt there’s a good majority of Bristolians who have never set foot in Lancashire, but opposed to supporting either Bristol City or Rovers, they choose to cheer on Steven Gerrard and co. Meanwhile, when it comes to Newcastle United, 7.42% of shirts are shifted in Bristol with Manchester City tops also in demand with 4.72% sold. Liverpool - 7.09% Manchester City - 4.72% Tottenham - 4.33% Chelsea - 3.66% Manchester United - 3.53% http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/LIVERPOOL-shirts-sold-Bristol-Merseyside/story-25908390-detail/story.html This is an old article but it's the first time I have seen it and it makes you think... I say - SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TEAM.
In Liverpool they probably get them from the Official Club Shop I would feel a bit of a hypocrite if I critisised them - after all I've lived in Dorchester all my life but support City
I've said before on various posts I have more respect for a Gashead than someone from Bristol who follows a prem club - although I suppose having a prem club as a 'second club' is just about acceptable - I can't understand it though personally. Bristol City and England are the only clubs/teams for me. Its the same here in Swindon - and probably most of the West Country, where there hasn't been a team in the top flight since Swindon managed it back in 1992/93.They all have excuses too, like 'my dad's family's budgie came from there' or 'my gran once bought a beatles record'. Plastic fans.
None since Tinnions free kick liberated them from Souness I suspect! I like the genuine Liverpool fans - just not the plastic wannabe fans who would rather adopt a prem side than follow their local side through the bad times.
None I bet, because we only sell ours through the shop at AG, I don't think anyone else sells them. House of Fraser did in Cabot Circus but I think they've stopped now.
I have a prem team, Arsenal, don't see nothing wrong with it. what the poll doesn't take into account is how many people from Liverpool live here, or how many of the people who bought the shirt aren't originally from Bristol. Would be good to see how many city shirts we sell each year. Just to add, a Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal shirt is like £20 where as a city one is £40+...
Hartcliffe is filled with wannabe scousers, who have never been to liverpool, probably most of them haven't been further north than Bedminster.
Makes me laugh of all the deluded chelsea crybabies because they're not top. Welcome to the real world
