Down the years The Gas have played Sheffield United a total of 23 times, 22 of these matches surprisingly have came in the old 2nd and third divisons and are only cup match came in our famous Watney Cup victory at Eastville even more surprisingly is we have the upper hand over them . our last match against them came in the 1988/89 play-off season in the old 3rd Division where we drew 1-1 at Twerton Park are first meeting coming in 1956 at Eastville The GAs coming out 3-1 victors . Our biggest victory was in the 1977/1978 in the old 2nd division at Eastville 4-1 was the outcome the heaviest defeat came in the 1958/1959 at Bramall Lane 5-2. So the record so far is as follows (this does include our Watney Cup victory even though its classed as draw so it should be 9 wins 8 draws but screw it we still won )PLD 23 W 10 D 7 L 6 F 37 G 37.So judging by some of the results where we have seen 74 goals we can expect some goals on saturday If you want to see the resuls, facts and figures then click in this link http://www.sunderland-mad.co.uk/head_to_head/bristol_rovers/vs/sheffield_united/index.shtml If you look at the top of the page you can change the opposition that Rovers have played
I had a feeling the first person to reply to my thread would be a city fan and mention City Vs Gas results shpuld of added a poll to it.
the slower strikers who have quality like lambert would be up for getting rid of the offside rule. staying by the pen box goal hanging would work a treat for them! this board been busy today!

if you get lucky and scrape a replay, Bramall Lane is a good ground to go to and you ought to visit it. One of the ones with a really good atmosphere
