Hello and welcome to the all new and improved Match day Hub which is now the official place for Gillingham fans, I decided to update this so that you will know where to go and chat before and during the game. This is here to replace the match day thread and the Starting Line up Prediction, this is where you will now be able to post all your team predictions and score updates. You can now just spend your match day in one place if you are not at the game. This is the thread for the upcoming game, I always post this thread before each game so that you can express your views on the corresponding fixture and can talk between each other during the game, You can post your team predictions before the game, you may include the starting 11 plus the subs which you think will be in the team, no points awarded for your predictions it is just for fun, it allows you to start a healthy debate between each other about the team which we will play or what it should be. If you wish you can post updates freely about the game and chat between yourselves, you are also free to talk about other games bizarre or not. This is open to both Gillingham fans and also the opposition After the match I will allow you all to create a summary on this thread and I will also provide extra details on the game if they are required or if I want to point anything out. You can talk about what was good about the game and what could have been better. During the game I will update the score and the team sheets as soon as they are available, also at the end I will add the table to this thread as it stands. This is here permanently so you will not see the Match day thread or the starting line up prediction threads as this is them combined.
Hope you will get the same outcome of results as that of Saturday. I will be working at Kingsmeadow on Friday where the Dons are playing Rotherham but will be checking your scores from Bristol.
And now for something completely different. By that of course, I mean exactly the same. Team for Friday? Will be as follows.. Gazzaniga Fish Essam Frampton Martin Whelpdale Payne Montrose Jackman Vine Kedwell SUBS Hawkes King Spiller Miller Oli Can't see too many changes being made, think Vine is ready for a start now so will be interesting to see him alongside Kedwell. Both are similar sort of strikers, both clever players but whether it will be a case of them being too similar remains to be seen. Shame we haven't got somebody like Obita playing because again the formation will be very narrow. Last time I went to The Mem, the heavens opened and didn't stop until we got in the car to drive home...funny that. Had the best sausage roll I've ever had so all's well that ends well, despite a 2-1 defeat.
Those of you who are going to Bristol I hope you have a safe journey there and back. Let's hope for 3 points and if other results go to plan (like they did last weekend) - a play-off position. I will be checking for the scores while cooking the burgers at Kingsmeadow - the Dons entertain Rotherham. One more win for us and it should keep us up. I will be coming to Priestfield on Monday (for the last time this season - unless there is a play-off semi-final) for the game v. Dagenham, so look forward to joining you in cheering on the lads to help get a step nearer to the play offs Have a great Easter weekend. Take care and best wishes. Regards Bernie
My team selection in no way meant to be a comparison to what Hessy might choose... Gazza Evans, Essam, King, Jackman Whelpdale, Payne, Montrose, Spiller Kedwell, Vine Subs Hawkes Frampton O-Lee Miller Apart from injured players, who have I forgot and would I care?
I refer to my last comment, 'who have I forgot and would I care?' lol The trouble is I never forgot him and I still don't care but you are probably right in your statement. So he has six games to prove his critics wrong. I live in hope for us tomorrow and again on Monday, giving us a good final four games. However, I've done the number crunching and unless Hessy is going to perform some sort of miracle the stats do not look good. We have not been able to achieve no more than 10 points month on month since August and that was over five games. Before anyone technically corrects me we got 13 points last month but over 8 games, as I say a miracle required. I just live in hope but whatever our achievement, we will be looking back and asking some serious questions.
I believe King may be missing tomorrow which is a shame so sadly we won't see him in the team. I think the team will be the same as the weekend with just Vine in to replace Kuffour.
After seeing Hess' pre game comments I'm not sure if we're going to be lining up in the same shape as last weekend, I have a feeling.... Gazza Fish, Essam, Frampton, Martin Whelpdale, Montrose, Payne, Jackman, Spiller Kedwell Hawkes Vine Miller C Lee O Lee I'd enjoy it if we had Vine line up next to Keds after their partnership on Saturday but due to how long he can run at 100% for he may be better off as an impact sub. Not to mention Spiller's performance last week warranted a starting birth as much as Fish.
Vine in for Kuffour the only change, good thing is that Evans is back on the bench but sadly no King Oli on for Obita on the bench. Team line up as Gazzaniga Fish Essam Frampton Martin Whelpdale Payne Montrose Jackman Vine Kedwell I believe this is the team.
Full team in Bristol Rovers 01 Bevan 03 Sawyer 04 Woodards 05 Bolger 37 Parks 06 Stanley 17 Paterson 23 Lund 09 Harrold 11 Carayol 26 Zebroski Substitutes 02 Smith 14 Brown 08 Gill 34 Dorman 18 Richard Gillingham 28 Gazzaniga 03 Frampton 12 Martin 16 Fish 18 Jackman 22 Essam 07 Whelpdale 08 Payne 19 Montrose 09 Kedwell 23 Vine Substitutes 24 Evans 17 Spiller 37 O Lee 11 Oli 31 Miller
Was enjoying the commentry.....Then Matt Cole turned up and proceeded to tell us what has happend so far .....WE KNOW weve been listening to proper commentators!!! Well at least hi boring sidekicks not there yet .....Oh yes he is ............switching to rovers commentry so i know whats going on
I can't stick up for Kedwell at the moment, he needed to put that in the back of the net and now Crewe are winning against Crawley, not sure which is better, I think I wanted a draw in that one.
Second penalty miss for Keds this season......not a great hit record from the spot. Hope that doesn't prove too costly as their tails (Gas) will be up after that let off. :-(
