    Hi

Just in case you’re not aware, Bristol Rovers FC Share Scheme has reached a staggering £1million. This landmark will be specially acknowledged during a dedicated day when Rovers meet Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

This brilliant effort is thanks to you and many other Rovers supporters like you and some who are no longer with us.

The Share Scheme was launched in December 2002. At that time, Rovers were bottom of League Two. However, thanks to the Share Scheme, Rovers purchased striker Andy Rammell from Wycombe in March 2003.

Andy’s contribution was magnificent. He went on to score four vital goals in Rovers last three games to help us avoid relegation to the Conference by 3 points.

So I am delighted to inform you that Andy or RAMBO as he was affectionately known by us all will be back to the Mem on Saturday, to help us celebrate this very historic event.

To further mark this occasion, we wanted to say a very big ‘thank you’ to you as Share Scheme members to recognise the fantastic efforts you made on the Club’s behalf.

Andy and his wife Wendy will join Platinum and Gold Members in boxes 17 and 18 for some special corporate hospitality. We have provided a lovely buffet for silver members in the Executive Suite of the Supporters Club and some worthy refreshment vouchers for bronze members for the match.

Every contribution is fully recognised and greatly appreciated. Every past and present Share Scheme member should have already received a signed certificate from Bristol Rovers Chairman Nick Higgs and Supporters Club Chairman Jim Chappell to mark your contribution. If not, then please let me know!

    The Share Scheme Today:

Bristol Rovers Supporters Club now holds a 3.83% of allocated shares with Bristol Rovers FC. This has enabled your Supporters Club to obtain two members on the Bristol Rovers FC Board. These of course are Ken and I. We serve a three-year term after which as directors we seek re-election or otherwise at the Supporters Club AGM.

Your benefits include discounts on leisurewear, complimentary match tickets with meals and season ticket discounts as well as free membership to the Supporters Club.

In recent years, the money you raised has helped develop the Youth Scheme at Bristol Rovers which is reaping the benefits with so many youngsters now playing a key role in the 1st Team. It’s because of your contribution that Bristol Rovers FC can now look to the future with excitement and anticipation of greater things ahead.

    Celebrations:

Andy, Chairman Nick Higgs and all the Platinum and Gold Share Scheme members will come onto the pitch at half time for a photo opportunity. Andy and Nick will carry out the 50-50 draw and a chat with Nick Day. Then Andy will walk around the pitch to wave to you and meet supporters in the Supporters Club bar after the match.

I sincerely hope you can join us and enjoy the game and feel appreciated for all your contributions - however great or small. They all mean so much for this football club!

    Many Thanks

As you will appreciate a great deal of work has taken place behind the scenes into making this event happen.

On a personal note, may I therefore thank in particular Ken Masters, Clare McDonagh, Helen Wigmore and Dave Sams for their outstanding contributions. May I also thank Ian Holtby and fellow staff at Bristol Rovers FC for sorting out the catering and other arrangements for this special day. Apologies if I’ve missed anyone!

    Best Wishes and many thanks.

Hope you're on the road to recovery Brian. Thanks for the info..............

In the pantheon of Rovers legends Andy Rammell must stand tall. Not with us long
but his contribution cannot be overstated.
Let's have a good home win on Saturday..and take the game to the opposition!

Best thing Ray Graydon did in charge was signing Rammell, as without him we would have played against the likes of Margate, Leigh RMI and Canvey Island the following season. And the position we would have been in could have destroyed the club potentially, so it would be great to see Rambo again. I just 7 when he kept us up, but I remember it well!

    Thanks Brian.
