Ennis I feel should be first choice striker.

    Bristol R...0-1...Argyle.....Jephcott (pen)...35 mins.

Argyle probably had the best of that.....defence looks okay.....Hardie doing all the donkey work......Houghton taken off after roughly 39 minutes....maybe a knock.....Randell on.

Well taken penalty for push on Jephcott.

Watched the recent interviews with Adam Randell: such a confident character, no stumbling, no ums and ahhs, knows the difference between an adjective and an adverb! And so enthusiastic.

    Bristol R...1-1...Argyle.

    Tale of two penalties.

    Defences won the day.

We definately need another striker.....and with experience.

Burton came on for Cooper.....but he didn't look as confident and will maybe not challenge Cooper for the No1 spot.

You are probably right about another striker. We have 3 good ones but it's a specialised role almost like keepers. You need cover fir suspensions, injuries, tired legs and loss of form.

Byron Moore and Dom Telford could both play up front and Lolos didn't make the cut either, so you could say we have quite a bit less cover in that department. Attacking midfield is another.

Not sure what to say about this game to be honest. The trouble is there are so many subs and at so many different times it is hard to remember who is on for who and where. The second half became quite disjointed for me with the swaps. Didn't see a bad game from anyone but didn't see anyone stand out either. Temperature far too high for anyone to bust a gut. Penalty for Jephcott as soft as you will see anywhere and theirs looked far more like one than ours. Hardly much of a shot in anger from either side. One or two slightly unnecessary tackles or challenges for me at times. In a normal game Bristol might have had a card or two.

Just before the game the system crashed and there was a real problem getting back in. According to my son it was pasoti in meltdown. It was restored just before the off and didn't fall over again for the game. Hard to judge if it is better with Argyle TV or not. Away game with one camera the same as last seasons offerings. I'm not likely to see a home game on the box so might not know how good it is or isn't.

No info on the screen....no teams....no scorers....no close ups....and it was hard work for only one commentator.....hopefully Argyle TV will be a big improvement on this......will that only cost £5 ?

Lost picture now and again but only for short moments.

My son has been refunded his £5 by Argyle. Didn't complain about it or anything and think they have refunded everyone. To be honest the screening looked exactly the same as iFollow last season. As the away teams film the games at their places I don't see what will improve on that. It is the filming at Home Park that is likely to be better than last season. I doubt a normal league game will be £5.

No refund this end....but I only switch on at 1255......so the problems you mentioned were before my viewing time.

Although Bristol R were a few notches up the divisions from our two previous friendlies....I felt that they were still a poor side.....without any real bite up front.

I also felt that we will probably be a little sounder in defence.....but attacking wise we have not done anything so far this summer to strengthen our mid-field attacking ability....and certainly not in our striking ability.....Ennis looks the only attacking bite we have......Hardie works hard but lacks something.....yesterday he had an easy chance to score as he broke through and only had to lift it over the oncoming keeper.....but he literally just gave the ball to the keeper at a very easy height.......Jephcott is worry me his finishing of half a season ago has completely disappeared.....so we are desperate for another seasoned striker....no young loanee please learning his trade at our expense.......we need someone who can make a difference when he come on.

You are wrong about Hardie Plym. He's quick, hard working and a good finisher. But......... strikers are only as good as the service they receive.

Well lets hope I'm wrong.....he's never been so good as that initial lone spell from Blackpool.

    2019/2020 season.........13 games...7 goals.....Div 2 level.

    2020/2021 season.........32 games...6 goals......Div 1 level.
