Shame about Portsmouth - they have really been through the mill with their money men. Bristol City is a different kettle of fish. They have one of the wealthiest chairmen in England, who made his money in the financial world. Our owners want Premiership football as number 1 priority, whilst Steve Lansdown at Bristol City is looking to make the club financially viable as number 1 priority.
Both must be good aims, and I respect the attitude that Lansdown has.
Dipping your toe in the Premiership doesnt guarantee healthy finance - look at Hull, Birmingham etc.
As the rewards get better, the costs spiral - and if you cant maintain your status the rewards diminish while the costs remain.
Fair play to Lansdown - I hope he succeeds. Best wishes to Bristol City for the remainder of the season
