first few days this week Bristol was almost dead conspicuous absence of people in town, light traffic.. today took me 2 hours to get from BRISLINGTON to Westbury on Trym and back again via St Phillips 17 miles total... I expect tomorrows game will suffer a bit from traffic chaos... its got really worse since that t*** put in the 20 mph zones.. thought we were a green city we now put about 20% or more pollution in the atmosphere as less cars get through lights as the more open roads go slower and more people it seems takes a chance and gets into the stream blocking the junctions, those up by zetland road, from cabots to whiteladies, past hospital a couple bad areas. Christmas aside this has been getting worse for months. A regular journey from house to childrens hospital now taking 5 - 7 minutes extra, used to leave at 0925 get there between 0945 / 0950 now get there mostly after 0955 people are finding what was short cuts, but now all are trying them, are getting frustrated when pulling out of the congested minor side road short cut, which takes them into main stream , so they push out and join anyway and screw the traffic going the opposite way. the glos rd / zetland , cranbrook road junction traffic going into town ... caused chaos....... after +10 mins of waiting I just followed the rest and took my chance , sorry for holding up traffic going sag way ....
