Pointed out to me by Supcon that now we have our "Worst Ever Bristol City Team XI" We need someone to manage them! So this is any person who managed, was the head coach, caretaker manager, interim etc etc..

Now I've only really started watching city consistently since the end of Tinnion beginning of Gary Johnson, I obviously went to games before those 2 managers but at the age of 9 you don't take much notice of managers, and even though there has been some bad years recently im pretty sure I've not had the pleasure of watching the worst ever manager but in my time I think the worst has to be Sean O'Driscoll.... I would of said Cop out but he got us Adomah and he was more of a c*** than our worst ever manager.

I know that SOD won't win but that's my vote.... Over to you!

Benny Lennartsson (think that's how you spell it), nice bloke but way out of his depth in his time with us. Closely followed by Planet Pulis!

    Russell Osman.

Reduced home gates by 40% and away attendances to their lowest point since the early eighties. Only man to score a winning goal for Bristol City and get booed by thousands all the way back to the half way line, and spark a half time walk out [still 0-0] of half the away support at Pompey in protest at his ultra defensive football.

Pullis for financially damaging the club for a years after he left a close second.

Interesting point whilst checking the list of manager names that in the 70 years before Alan Dicks we had 17 managers, in the 34 years since Alan Dicks we've had 20 managers. Denis Smith is a manager I had forgotton about but now having being reminded he came close with Mr Pullis, but I think its going to have to be good old Benny Lennartsson.

who lasted six months before leaving to take over at Portsmouth. During his time at Ashton Gate he was manager of perhaps the worst City side since the one that completed a hat-trick of successive relegations almost 20 years earlier.
    From Wikipedia regarding Tony Pulis!!
Maybe even Bobby Houghton, although he did take up the poisoned Chalice.

We did one 2 years ago called "Your favourite all time 11" Suppose we could do a "Bristol City's Best XI" If enough people want to.

Both Osman and SOD were awful.
But solely because Osman had some decent players and still managed to turn them into a shambles, while SOD tried to follow the board's under 24 policy albeit badly and miserably, my choice is Osman.
I remember one game at Grimsby when our first shot of the match came in 84th minute, a daisy cutter from Wayne Allison that trickled in the general direction of the goal. Awful rubbish.

Having missed so much of City's history during my early years in Canada I will take my lead for Jim Brennan who told me that Benny Lennartsson was the worst manager that he ever worked for, and he wanted to leave the club because of him.

    He gets my uneducated vote..

    Feel sympathy for SOD,

    Either Coppell or Millen.
Coppell because he left so soon
Millen because he was diabolical in his second term for us.

Sean O'driscoll was not the Manager.

Worst was Pullis spent a lot of money the City could ill afford met fans in public giving his reasons, explaining what he was going to do and walked out after six months for Pompey.

The last few years have been samba football v Pullis and Osman.

He was the head coach. It CLEARLY says in the thread "this is any person who managed, was the head coach, caretaker manager, interim etc etc.." So SOD falls in to that category.
