From a Hornets point of view, we were very poor on Saturday and will need to play more like recent away performances at West Ham and Derby where we scored first and defended well later. It felt on Saturday as if we've got enough points to be safe and couldn't raise out game against a very poor Coventry who I really can't see staying up.
Didn't realise Watford had such good recent away results. There I was feeling reasonably confident and Shiny has brought me back to earth with a bump! All our home games are basically Cup Finals from here on in. Let's hope Watford don't feel the same level of urgency....
if Saturday is anything to go by, we won't, but hopefully they'll get a kick up the backside before Tuesday, and we'll romp it Since there are now two match threads, i do hope you'll visit ours too http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...-Bristol-City-v-Watford?p=2486185#post2486185
Was Marvin Sordell sold during the Transfer Window ? This is a huge game for City, I'd say the biggest of the season given our precarious position and we have to get 3 points by any means possible to stay on track for survival. On paper (but when did that ever count for anything?) this is one of our easier remaining games and one that I had us down for a win for.
yep Bolton got him i believe your right angelic this is our biggest game of the season, because its the next one, w have some nice home fixtures coming up where in recent seasons we have done well, our away fixtures are just criminal Middlesbrough Birmingham Notts Forrest Burnley Apart from Middlesbrough we rarely have any luck with those fixtures, and i cant see us getting 3 points from any of them so our home form is crucial Still, we must believe and back Del and the boys, as long as we do our part its down to them to do there's
Thanks Shiny - that's one less to worry about as Sordell is a class act. The away fixtures we have are awful. We have won at the Riverside (1-0 I think) once a couple of seasons ago and I think we got a 0-0 there as well. We won't get anything at Birmingham or Forest I fear, and I hope we don't have to go to Burnley on the last day and get a win to stay up....
Hi guys. Whilst you all think that Sordell was your biggest worry you have obviously not seen the previous games. Of late there are 3 key players for the 'orns and they have run rings round West Ham, Derby and Burnley. I wont give names, but im sure you will see them when they tear your back four open. If these 3 players can replicate the form of late and your team arent filthy cheats like Coventry i can see this being a very open and entertaining game. I predict that if we cut out the sloppy defending we will win.
since theyve come down we done well at the riverside, 0-0 and we beat them 2-1 last year with a spectaular MARVIN ELLIOTT goal lets hope to keep our good form up there i too pray we dont have to go burnley and win, lets just hope were safe and laughing come this fixture
Thanks for the insight Babyhornetdan Given that you aren't vying for a play off place or involved in the relegation fight raging below you, I hope that Watford aren't particularly interested in this particular fixture and we can turn you over and edge closer to safety. As you'll obviously have noticed we've done the double over Southampton and Leicester but we've struggled to win the must win bread and butter home games way too often.
Thats ok Angelicnumber16. However, i can tell you 100% certainly that we will not lie down. We will be fighting as hard as if we were in your position. Its the never die attitude our manager has instilled in us this season. We have never given up a match and we wont start now
McManus is a doubt, this is not what we ****ing need right now!!!! http://www.bcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10327~2667398,00.html
something for nothing, our last home game against coventry was dismal and like other hornets have said, repeat that against you lot and it'd be a right pasting. that said our recent away form is better than our home's as shown by derby and west ham. it certainly will be a good game judging from your responses but i think this game will really depend on what watford team turns up. the team against coventry- 3-1 city. the team against west ham and derby- 3-1/4-1 watford. i will say the same thing i think before every watford game (which was actually proved wrong for the first against coventry)- if you stop us scoring within the first 10 mins or even score within that time, watford will certainly lose. anyways good luck for the season and let's hope david james finally listens to my shouting at the home game and lets in a goal for his first club
It looks as if Watford have a couple of key players doubtful for tomorrow. Hope it is a good game and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it finished as a draw. Good luck for the rest of the season. What a nice bunch you all are.
