Preview: Bristol City vs. Watford - prediction, team news, lineups
Watford square off against Bristol City on Saturday afternoon looking to strengthen their position in the Championship playoff spots.

At a time when the Hornets have moved into promotion contention, Bristol City are now relegation candidates after a four-match winless streak, the Robins sitting in 20th place in the standings.

We say: Bristol City 1-2 Watford
Given the marginal improvements which have been made by Bristol City of late, we cannot rule out a home win on Saturday. However, Watford are the justified favourites and should have enough quality at both ends of the pitch to emerge victorious.
    Bristol City possible starting lineup:
O'Leary; Vyner, Klose, Pring; Weimann, Williams, James, Scott, Dasilva; Wells, Conway

Is it me, or was that one big load of old waffle? His Heart seems more towards what could have been at Watford rather than any affection to us..
As for what the team needs to do on Saturday, same old same old, I've learnt nothing...
I feel the players need to pull something out of the bag, a heavy defeat and another bad performance and he could be gone..
Where as a win going into the break will change the dynamics for at least the short term!!

I’ve never thought he seemed invested in the club, or loved the badge. Say what you like about LJ but nobody can deny he loved the club and wanted to do the best for it. I can’t say I see it or feel that with Nige.

I listened to Nige to be honest, I agree it was pretty much a repeat show, nothing really to bring to the party, players are weak, no consistency, youngsters are exposed, no on pitch leadership, everybody knows our defence is crap, our squad is too small to cope with illness and injuries, we are poverty stricken but we are where we are and we will rally to the cause, like it or lump it he told the truth but he and we have to accept it is his party.

I'd rather hear that than all the odd LJ quotes, the grass being to long, the SAS training, the gizmos to nowhere, the European promises, "I went to the NHS to study pressure environments and leadership”
“I have been everywhere, all over the world, studying,” he says, citing trips to Barcelona, Real Madrid and the Latvian club Skonto Riga'

Where did it all lead, £38.4m debt and the sack

And very comfortable in the Championship and more often than not, knocking on the door of the playoffs.....along with record transfers out.
We are where we are now, couple of points away from bottom 3 with relegation quite a distinct reality...along with a team of coaches and a manager unable to sort out our defence..
Progress was the name of the game.....I've searched high and low, even under the carpets............can't find it anywhere :emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0105-wink:

    2016/17........£3.26m - LOSS
    2017/18........£23.5m - LOSS
    2018/19........£10.95m - PROFIT
    2019/20.......£10.07- LOSS
    2020/21.......£38.4m - LOSS

I do so agree with you Covid 19 circumstances did affect finances but in time we ended up with that debt, we had a terrible history of debt for 4 of the 5 seasons LJ was involved, not I hasten to add entirely due to him but he was a participent, he took over we were 17th after 4.5 years we were 12th, a very expensive period for 5 places climb in the table.

Me too - I NEVER want us to lose.
I just think that the self-belief has gone and we don't have a strategy on the pitch anymore.
Ever hopeful, but my head says a 3-0 loss

Come Saturday evening Pearson may regret calling out Junior's SCATTER GUN approach and his wasted tenure.
After all it was SL's disastrous decision to employ Junior.

Personally think SL has brought Pearson in to sort this comedy club out and get it back on track.’
    That remit has not changed.

Disastrous decision kept us comfortable in the championship with no threat of relegation.. The best the club has seen in over 40 years!!
