V well back to Ashton Gate for a game against a very inform side in Sunderland. Their last game midweek beating Leeds 1-0. Bristol City under new manager Liam Manning has had a tough baptism in the championship and already realising what a hard league this is. The pressure is going to start mounting on Liam Manning if this game is another loss especially after the very unpopular decision across the fanbase to remove Nigel Pearson. John Lansdown knows his new man must start producing results quickly before Ashton Gate becomes toxic. Sadly I see another home loss and even a heavy loss I’m going 1-3 to Sunderland and the pressure pot starting to boil.
I think we can get at least a point here. I don't think we are more or less likely to win, or lose this than when Nige was here, and I'm being honest. Some fans won't want to hear that, but they are also right that we haven't, as yet progressed in terms of results under LM. I would say though, that the players look fitter, and more organised, and create more chances, we just can't finish them at the moment, a combination of a poor final poor and poor finishing. We are close to being a good top 10 outfit in this league.
Would have, could have, should have, we aren’t picking up points against teams we really should be, I hope you are right, personally I can’t see it.
Get a grip!, he was no saviour, after WBA I wanted rid, but he did turn it around. That’s all by the bye, whatever we think of him and the way he departed, he’s gone and I’m happy to embrace the new era, but we need to start picking up points. If we don’t we are going to be in trouble.
I really hope Manning's lack of playing experience doesn't come to the fore. I know it's early but he keeps going on about clever coach talk and players have to learn to adapt. Think he's wrong, with our never ending injuries it's player numbers who have quality that we lack. I can't get over taking Sykes and Knight off at Blackburn. And as for the masterstroke of asking O'leary to kick long and pick up 2nd balls is almost Downs League tactics. Organised better, yes. Not convinced of LM's reading the game, all a bit it works ok on paper but can't see why the results are better. Fingers crossed Saturday.
It’s a two way thing, he has to adapt too, both to the strengths and weaknesses of our squad, and also the tactics of the opposition, up till now he seems wanting in both aspects.
quite a warm day! although air is quite "damp" not quite Tee shirt weather but been outside today with thin sweatshirt on and not cold! Both halves should be fine just a hint of a breeze........ suit the high balls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing less than 3 points will be acceptable today, sitting comfortably in mid table to now being 6 points off the drop, I hope some people are happy with themselves at how this **** show has turned out currently.
If it’s a $hiteshow now, then it was before as well, surely? A great many on here are somehow making out that by bashing our new manager, means we were playing great fast flowing attacking football, and winning games by scoring lots of goals before he came in. Newsflash, this was a long way from true!!
