Well after the cancelled match, the re-arranged match was fixed for an early as possible date which is great to ensure that we don't have a glut later on. Shame it was cancelled as would have tried to make the effort to head down for this one as have never been to their ground and it is Bristol which is a lovely night out. Form Guide: __________P_W_D_L_F__A__GD Shrewsbury 6_1_4_1__6__7__-1 Brizzle CFC _6_0_3_3_10_15_-5 Bristol's players top scoring players: Baldock 5 Emmanuel-Thomas 5 Elliott 2 Obviously Bristol have not had an ideal start to life in League 1 and changes made to their squad have perhaps not had time to gel yet. I am hoping that Shrewsbury continue their form of last season of extending opposition's dreadful runs rather than the (many) season's before breaking the runs. Bristol lost 3-0 on Saturday and seem to have issues with their defence, yet have a strong attacking players. Hopefully our defence can at least help us get a point. We have Reach with us for another month and hopefully he will commit himself to making major effort to impress, Winnall is nearly fit and will probably be on the bench. I'm assuming Goldson is in CD as reports of the last match are positive. Pop your thoughts down
Still not going to be an easy game, despite their struggles. I suspect we'll come second and there will be an outpouring of anger on certain boards. Oh well, Brizzle 2-1 Town (Summerfield)
I feel this is a season of many draws.....let's have 2-2 this time with less than 4,000 fans and Summerfield scoring before Jacobson!
I was referring to Winnall as he was cleared, but recommended to not be put on for a full game yet in case he gets reinjured.
You mean Winfield. I don't know about Bristol being a good night out. It is a nightmare to drive around. Hopelessy lost yesterday. Bristol City 3 Shrewsbury 0 Attendance 9656
my 2 loggerheads teddy bears, Roland and Graham, whispered to me 3-1 to town 3 weeks ago. I am going --left tit 1 town 3=== bradshaw 2 parry 1 att 10888, I suspect half of Bristol may be there after I warmed their boards. come on town, make an old man in devon happy on his birthday.===warning, periods of rain today. do hope it is not washed out or I shall have to warm their boards again. Floreat Salopia, breath on 'em town.
aj, many happy returns....you're a little virgo too then. Spent my birthday watching cricket in Cardiff....better than last night's effort! Ended up in Bristol for a meal....did not get lost! Want to change my attendance guess....must be my age, hit the wrong key. Let's try 9,999
Wasn't there a team in a local league once where they were all called Smith (or something similar)? That would stop such mix-ups. What about the scouser (not very PC this) who called all her eleven boys Wayne? She was asked if this caused problems when she wanted a specific child to talk to ...."No", she said "I call them by their surnames!" I can never go to Merseyside again.
Just back. Bristol City were probably the poorest team we have played so far this season, but just like Crawley we let them boss the last third of the game dropping deeper and deeper. Too many individual mistakes in the Shrewsbury side which a better team would have punished. As it was the goal came from Summerfield losing the ball and Emmanuel-Thomas was not closed down. We had stacks of shots at goal in the first 60 minutes usually high or wide. The goal was a classic breakaway from a Brizzle free kick in our area. The ball was fed out to Main wide right in oceans of space and he delivered a cross for Taylor to tap in with no defender anywhere to be seen. Parry off injured and a big miss. MOM Goldson---again.
I always worry that Reach does not give the cover that Parry does to the full back but he did better last night. I still think the experience of Parry might have seen us through.
