v v Saturday 30th November 3:00pm kick off -proper football times and day sky should do one --Well the same old same old is happening dominating games but unable to score goals-- Bristol City have one big problem goals-they purchased two young strikers for the best part of 5 million hoping they would come good-One looks like he does not want to be here and the other just does not now where the goal nets are.Unless they can do business or loans in January we are at best mid table once again having spent decent money this season.Facts are we are no better league wise than when Nigel Pearson was here with a far far weaker squad. Before anybody jumps down my throat we have not progressed. Liam Manning must start with two strikers to try and sort this pathetic ongoing problem of goals. I would start with Armstrong and Wells as a pair and play Twine or Bird central behind them to create the chances. Plymouth got battered midweek and will be a lion who is wounded-We must take three points from this fixture Saturday nothing else will be acceptable. If we lose this this it is a big concern as Ashton Gate is not a happy hunting ground for Bristol City at present. Liam Manning after each match his talk are identical-he has to change the record and change the style of play-clearly the system we are playing are not giving us the goals that we need to win games. Change it Liam Manning and see what it brings-
I think man for man we are stronger than Plymouth. If they try and play football against us we will win comfortably. We have the skills and ability to pass our way through them. If they park the bus then we’ll struggle. Rooney knows this. They could even hit us with a set piece and do a ‘smash and grab’. If they DO opt to try and shut up shop, that’s when Mehmeti could be the key imho - and Dickie from corners.
With our less than stellar results at home I can see us struggling with Plymouth, especially if they build a strong back wall against which we don't have an answer. The goals are drying up with very little menace up front and if Plymouth score first we could be in for a bleak afternoon. Cheer up Christmas is coming.
They will park the bus and try to catch us on the counter. It’s inevitable, especially after their drubbing the other night. If we can score early on I can see a comfortable win, but if we can’t it could go either way as we get increasingly frustrated, then they could easily Nick it late on.
If they park the bus then we will struggle as we cannot get behind them-if they play football then we must score.I hope Manning changes his formation up top.
What’s wrong with lefties? , particularly liked Walsh, smudge, even Tinns was a decent player in his day
Im on the train on my way down from Hereford now. Going with my old man (PAFC fan), but all the trains from Devon are delayed. He’s thinking of sacking it as he know we will pummel them today
