Well this is the first of two monster games for Lee Johnson. Make no mistake Luton will be ready to fight and rolled us over at Kenilworth Road. For me Johnson has to play his best trusted eleven. Home form has been our Achilles heal for two seasons now. Nothing other than a win will be exceptable Will we get it time will tell. For me I would take a draw just to stop the rot. If we lose the next match against Brentford then I really do believe SL needs to and will be looking for a new manager. Just seen Luton have lost every away game since Sept⚽️ ❌Derby 2-0 ❌Fulham 3-2 ❌Birmingham 2-1 ❌Reading 3-0 ❌Brentford 7-0 ❌Stoke 3-0 ❌Preston 2-1 ❓Bristol City.......
Lee Johnson is desperate to overturn his sides form against the Hatters, currently 22nd in the Championship, just one point off the bottom of the table. Speaking after the Charlton loss, Johnson said: ""You've got to puff your chest out, you've got to turn up, take a breath and go again. "We know how relentless this division is, I'm certainly not feeling sorry for myself.' "We'll crack on, stay consistent and try and inject the players with as much confidence as possible. "I think you saw in the second half on Thursday we did play with some confidence and we had that belief, but unfortunately individual errors and unique have cost us." https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...ws/sky-sports-pundit-predicts-further-3685533 LJ' s advice after the Charlton defeat.
Lose the next two homes games,he gotta go before we gut sucked into the bottom scrap. 4 from 24 = relegation form.
Luton really are a curse for us. They’ve already beaten us this season - and we have lost the last 5 times we have played them. We have about as much chance of beating them as we have Preston.
I hope your proved correct. lose tomorrow the ground will not be happy and lose to Brentford time for him to go. Done a great job, but it has gone stale.
We currently look like a side that has lost it's way in the dark and are devoid of desire and footballing acumen. When it comes down to the basics it is the primary job of the coach/manager to shake the bag and let the rubbish fall by the wayside concentrating his efforts on team morale and tactics designed to win games and grab points. It would appear to me that the semi-lustre we had earlier in the season has been well and truly rubbed off and you can see the underside and it's not looking very pretty or indeed very confidence building for the rest of the season. Does the axe need to fall and where would that leave us is a terrible question to have to answer, given our previous on the hiring front?
Biggest and most important games in LJs time here today and Wednesday it will divine his future for a while.
Of course I want us to turn this losing streak around, but I don’t think LJ is anywhere near being fired. We are in the top half of the table and 4 points off the top 6. Given that he wasn’t fired after 8 straight defeats last time I can’t see him going just yet. Maybe if we plummet and find ourselves fighting relegation and after a few 6-0 defeats perhaps, but right now he’s perfectly safe.
