Although Huddersfield are improving, we expect them to do just that, with Conway and co getting back on the goal trail to boot. Bristol City possible starting lineup: Bentley; Vyner, Naismith, Atkinson; Scott, James, Williams, Dasilva; Weimann; Conway, Wells SuperStar ~ Tommy Conway please log in to view this image SuperStar ~ Andi Weimann please log in to view this image Ashton Gate Stadium ~ please log in to view this image Press conference: Nigel Pearson looks ahead to Terriers clash https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/press-conference-nigel-pearson-looks-ahead-to-terriers-clash/ The official in the Middle ~ Darren Bond will be the man in the middle for tomorrow's game with Huddersfield... The last Robins game he officiated came in the 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest last season and he's averaging 4.25 yellow cards in his four Championship matches so far.
We need to play to our strengths for 90 minutes not give up at 80. Then we might be able to hold onto points.
Forgot to mention, I'm down in my bolt hole and there is a tendency to lose wi-fi signal so I have put up the matchthread a bit earlier than normal.
I think we should change the captaincy for a couple of games.. Naismith might be an obvious choice, but I think I would give it to Weimann.. Apparently in training he’s a nightmare!!
Thanks everyone, nothing serious. Having a big lump in my neck being cut out. Caught it before it becomes more “sinister” Gout cheeky barstool, I’m not as old as most of you
Glad it's not serious mate. BTW - Gout is no laughing matter and it doesn't just affect old people. I used to suffer with it myself - its a kidney malfunction which causes uric acid crystals to form, which then travel around the bloodstream and get stuck in various places (usually joints) causing immense pain and in extreme cases if left untreated can cause gangrene requiring amputation - and even death. Although I'm a self-confessed drinker, it isn't necessarily caused by that - my dad has suffered with it since his 40s and he's virtually teetotal, but once you DO have gout, then drinking alcohol, fruit juices, milk products and eating certain (most) foods - particularly red meat, fish and greens will help to bring on an attack. It can be controlled to a point by diet; if you eat only plain chicken (no sauce or gravy), potato, rice, cherries and pineapple and drink only water for the rest of your days, you can avoid an attack because the uric acid crystals won't form. However, if like me, you want a bit of a life, you take Allopurinol regularly as a preventative measure. This prevents an attack - however, if you eat asparagus then you will suffer an attack despite the Allopurinol - within a couple of hours. Asparagus truly is the food of the devil!! To give you an idea of what it feels like; I suffered my first attack in my 40s the following day after playing football. it attacked me in my metatarsal on my left foot (unusual because it normally attacks the joints). I thought my foot was broken - I couldn't put it to the ground - and I couldn't get any relief from the pain lying in bed either. If anything touched my foot - even a bedsheet - it was agony. I immediately assumed that I must have got injured playing football, but I couldn't remember taking any tackle - or having my foot stamped on - which might have caused it. I went to A&E and I was told that I just needed to rest it. Gout wasn't diagnosed straight away because it was in my metatarsal, not a joint (as I explained earlier). The attack lasted a few days before it cleared up. About 6 months later it happened again - and again a few months later - and it started affecting my life - I had time of work whilst sick with it. It was actually my DAD who suggested that it might be gout and he game me some of his reactive pills - which cleared it up almost immediately (in a couple of hours). It was then that I went to the GP and told him what had happened and it was then confirmed after a blood test. I haven't had an attack since then - thankfully. I wouldn't wish it on anyone - it really is THAT painful.
What we need to do is forget trying to playing keepball 25 yards from goal. Every weekend its the same throughout the football league - messing about getting caught in possession. There are as many 'assists' on M O D every Saturday night through cock ups than through brilliant football.
Or have players/management intelligent enough to at least vary things and of course all being on the same page....is what I thought training was for!!!
