Onto the next game Bristol City v Derby County.

well if you would have said to me we will take 7 points from the last three games I would have snapped your hands off.
Not a bad return considering our erratic team.We could have taken all nine points with a little better defending.

Anyway back to the Derby game Saturday and city go into it full of confidence.
I don’t see any reason why a further 3 points doesn’t come our way after the battering we took earlier in the season up at Derby.
    I am going for a 2-0 win.
LM has a selection headache with the players coming back from injury.
Let’s just hope he gets it right.

The New Year has arrived and any team that might fancy themselves to be in the mix for the play-offs now have to get their backsides moving in the right direction. We started with an almost win only to be let down by our consistent inability to defend a lead and so three points from Derby is almost a must win game to keep in contention. Players have to step up their game and Liam needs to get most everything right otherwise we may slip out of the top half of the table. As you say RR a lot of the injury issues have been rectified and the selection of the starting eleven becomes more difficult when you consider that some of those returning players have a serious lack of game time. Let's hope for the best and 3 points.

I see that Atkinson has gone to Pompey on loan.

What the hell is our club doing Rob Atkinson gone out on lone to Pompey.
We just let a top top centre half who should be playing alongside a three with Dickie and McNally.

    clueless -clueless-clueless-clueless <doh>

I'm not Vyner's greatest fan but right now I think it makes sense.
Presume we can get Atkinson back if injuries happen to our current 3 CBs.

Top centre half based on what RR? His form two years ago? Hasn't been able to force his way back in the side and reportedly doesn't like U21 football, best he goes and gets championship minutes and if he proves he is back to his best he comes back and competes for a place

Decent player, injuries unfortunately held him back, good for him to get some game time atleast.

When 100% he’s one of our best defenders imo.

much better choice than Vyner too although I don’t mind him as much.

I understand he’s better off getting game time with Pompey than sitting on the bench. My worry though is it leaves us short of cover

It seems that we are off-loading some players even though it's just on loan with recall available. My concern is that we don't end up bringing in more donkeys like we did in the summer but I suppose we have to believe that someone in that department must know what they are doing, except whoever brought in Mayulu and Armstrong. :emoticon-0136-giggl

Wells has been extremely useful this season and he will be sorely missed. He’s also a big positive influence on the younger players.
Let’s hope we don’t sell him and then not get a replacement - which was the sort of thing we have done in the past.

I knew nothing about Fally before he arrived, but Tinnion only needed to read the QPR forums to learn about Armstrong. I guess the hope is he finds his scoring boots playing for us, but it’s a long shot.

Fans are a far better judge than our powers to be.
Not just Armstrong either, the Norwich fans could not believe we paid £1million for Marley Watkins.
Unbelievably Lee Johnson had Watkins at Barnsley but still brought him to City.
Watkins played for 10 clubs yet we were the only club who paid money for him.
    Madness.

    I agree 90% of the time, but sometimes we fans are wrong;
I was underwhelmed when we appointed Cotts as manager - and the Forest fans didn’t rate him.
Same with Wilbs as a player - and Jon Stead years ago - but they all proved me wrong.
Most of the time though I agree - the fans see the players week in week out - but so do the bloody professional scouts. It’s incredible so many duds are signed when you think about it.

There have also been some players that I personally have liked, but they weren’t that popular; I really rated Bolassie and was frustrated we didn’t play him on the left with Albert on the right. We only played one of them at one time. Elliasson was another I really rated and he never played 90 minutes and we haven’t heard from him since he left BS3. I liked Massengo and thought he would come good but he never did. Right now in today’s squad I really rate Mehmeti (although he does frustrate me too). I think he could be our ‘Grealish’.
    It’s a funny old game…….
