Having only met twice before predictions of a goal avalanche may be a bit wide of the mark!
last season our 2nd game of the season was a dodgy 2-1 away win tnx to Tammy later in in the season it was goaless!

this season it is our 12th game:-
    Bristol City v Burton
    Ipswich (1) 1 Bristol City (2)3 W
    Bristol City (1) 2 Bolton (0)0 W
    Norwich (0) 0 Bristol City (0)0 D
    Bristol City (0) 4 Derby (1)1 W
    Wolves (1) 3 Bristol City (1)3 D
    Reading (0) 0 Bristol City (0)1 W
    Bristol City (0) 1 Aston Villa (0)1 D
    Bristol City (0) 0 Millwall (0)0 D
    Brentford (0) 2 Bristol City (1)2 D
    Birmingham (1) 2 Bristol City (1)1 L
    Bristol City (3) 3 Barnsley (0)1 W

Burton 9 pts adrift are in 19th joint place on points but with an horrendous GD of minus 17 (Bolton worst on minus 18 )

    19 jt Burton P11 pts 9 GF 6 GA 23 GD -17 form L L L W D L D W D L L

Bookies make City 2/5 to win 4/1 the draw and Burton are 9/1 to upset the cider cart!
other city odds promotion 5/1; 12/1 win play offs ( me thinks that will be only way to get up, so far better than all other odds) top 6 is 6/4, top 12 is 2/7 and just to reach playoff 5/2 ( again better than top 6 as only way we are likely to get there is 3rd to 6th!?)

Guaranteed gate of 16,500 with 150+ Burton fans making the trip, Tickets are from £21

    Suspensions
Marlon Pack , his One-match ban, meant he missed Ipswich A)
    Injuries
    Milan Djuric - groin injury
    Eros Pisano - knee injury
    Gary O'Neil - knee injury
Rest of the squad fit, but internationals may be a bit weary .... even euphoric in Maggers case

    .
Burton will once again be missing Liam Boyce who ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in pre-season.
The Northern Ireland international striker is expected to miss most of the season with the injury.

    SAM's prediction
Home win 75% Draw 15% Away win 10%

    Match facts

Nigel Clough is unbeaten in his last five away league visits to Ashton Gate as a manager (three wins, two draws) last tasting defeat in December 2010 as Derby boss.
Bristol City are unbeaten in their last seven home league games on a Friday (five wins, two draws), while Burton have never won a Friday match away in the Football League in six attempts (three draws, three defeats).
Burton have conceded more goals than any other Championship side this season (23).
The Brewers have lost their last two league games 4-0 against Aston Villa and Wolves. The last time a second tier side lost three consecutive games by four or more goals was in January 1964, when Cardiff City lost four on the bounce.
Jamie Paterson has assisted more goals than any other Championship player this season (five).

    update on team
Bailey Wright will undergo a fitness test ahead of tomorrow night’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Burton Albion.
The City skipper has been rated “50/50” to play by head coach Lee Johnson after returning from international duty early because of a glute injury.
Eros Pisano remains seven days away from full fitness after a knee injury, with Zak Vyner poised to step in if Wright fails his fitness check.
Elsewhere, Milan Djuric has been in full training for the last few days after recovering from groin surgery.
Johnson handed his players an extended period of time off during the international break, although seven of his squad were away representing their countries.
Hordur Magnusson helped Iceland qualify for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in their history, while Wright and Callum O’Dowda have the chance to join the defender when Australia and Republic of Ireland take part in play-offs next month.
Johnson added: “It was great seeing the lads all congratulating Hordur today and hopefully we can have Bailey, Callum or even Famara (Diédhiou) joining him because Senegal still have a good chance.”
The City boss even joked: “It gives me the chance to legitimately go out to the World Cup and hand in an expenses claim!”

These are games you must win if you have a chance of top six,no excuses this should be a home banker.

An arrogant statement. Last season Newcastle lost home and away to Blackburn, who ended up relegated, but it didn't stop them winning the league. Burton themselves also beat Huddersfield in their own back yard and won 4 points in their two games with Sheffield Wednesday, both of whom finished top 6.

Anything less than a win would be disappointing, but final places are decided by more than just one-off results. Obviously you can't have too many blips, but they will happen for all teams at some point. Hopefully tonight won't be one of ours, but it isn't the end of our season if we only got a point.

Not arrogant Nick, being brutally honest, these are games the top teams in the championship should win.
I think we can all agree on this.

Yes, but there's a small but important difference between 'should' and 'need'. We need to get as many points as we can from whatever game we play in, regardless of who the opposition is.

Other teams have underestimated us to their own cost - we ought not do the same to teams like Burton, just because they're currently punching above their weight.

Frustrating so far - one way traffic. Burton would be delighted with a draw.

    0-0 then.
Opportunity missed or a banana skin avoided?
Moved up to 3rd. Still unbeaten.

Did anyone see what was wrong with the goal. I could not see from where I was sat.
Also can someone tell Leko tricks are nice but with two forwards passing would of been better.

Not all that surprising after a break which for us cane at exactly the wrong time. That's 2 home games we would have expected to win and we have drawn. We need to find a way to break down teams who park the bus.
We will improve again I have no doubt of that

I thought we played with flair, confidence and imagination tonight but regrettably we never found that elusive spot in front of goal to get all 3 points. It's not a disaster but nonetheless the 3 points should have been our's for the taking if only we had been able to unlock the wall with some telling passes but it's better than the banana skin scenario.

From my viewpoint on the live video the goal disallowed for offside was an incorrect call because although Diedhiou was in an offside position when the ball crossed the line he made no attempt to play the ball and the scorer was not offside at any time during the play. Legal goal in my books but complaining will do no good and to be honest with 75% possession we should have unlocked the door to all 3 points at a canter, so let's move on and be grateful that at least we have a side that will compete. The commitment to winning the ball back is at an extreme high and if we can stop a certain player, who has major physical advantage in size, from climbing all over the opposition full-backs rather then use his strength to maintain the ball then perhaps we might have got the single goal we needed.

Our shape is improving from previous seasons when Lee had limited ideas of what to do next and when you can substitute Corey for Aden then things keep going as they should because that's why a strong bench squad is needed, and I think we finally have that luxury.

We rarely get F A at Norwich and Ipswich. It's the Championship and anything can happen.
If we'd have got a point at Ipswich, won tonight and gone 3rd we'd all be chuffed as nuts.
It's a long old season and this point might be seen in May as precious.

well we all hoped, it might be a "few goals" but a packed defence showed up our weakness .. we need to score in such games.. also compared to other games Burton severely dampened our goals to shots ratio ...
a dozen shots and 9-0 on corners OUR possession was about 70 minutes of the game!

Burton and Clough new their team would not beat us playing football.
So yes they parked the bus as did Millwall.
However we are being given a lot of respect by opposition managers and teams.
    More will follow suit.
However LJ has to have a plan B, as we need too be winning these games.
We can't blame the **** ref,we have to create different ways of scoring goals.
    Bring on the Leeds
