A lot could depend on the weather. If we get a very hot July it could be the survival of the fittest as our players aren't used to playing seriously competitive matches at that time of year.
2 games in June to ease them back into it, then 7 games in 21 days - that will test anyone to their limits. Good job we have a big squad as plenty of rotation will be needed! Luckily for us, apart from Boro away our travelling is pretty minimal during those 21 days. I’m assuming teams will travel on the day of the game to minimise any risk, so this could be a major factor?
So many games with so little time between each one makes it a lottery , we’ve no chance we all no how poorly we do when lee swaps his team around.
one more week to wait … I wonder WHAT the plans are for the next season? players have had a 3 month or so rest [close season ] so a month off? then extension to mid June 2021 playing more mid week games maybe for the first 18 games
