Now there are some people who say you cannot follow two football teams and i always believed that as i was brought up as an avid Liverpool fan by my scouse Dad and i managed to get to a few games.

As i got older and moved further away i found my weekends extremely boring, luckily enough i live about 45mins away from Ashton Gate and my cousin is a season ticket holder in the EastEnd. The first time i went to the gate was in the season we went to Wembley. The game i watched was City vs Hull and i believe the result was 2-0 and either Louis or McCombe scored a bycycle kick in front of the Atteo. I can distinctly remember my main reason for going to this match was to see Jayjay Okocha, who was dissapointing and was only on for around 10mins.

During the game everyone was friendly to me and i thought the atmosphere was fantastic in the EE and was getting taught the songs so i could join in, by the end of the game my voice was almost gone but it took me about 2hours to calm down due to the adrenaline. My first experience was great and i didn't miss a match for the rest of the season, i even drove up to Stoke on my own to watch the top of the table clash, which we lost unfortunatly but i loved every minute of it up their we really tried to outsing the Stoke faithful (who are extremely loud). Only problem was i was the first car in the car park as i got their early so i was the last out! about hour and a half of waiting.

I've been there for the good times (Wembley season) and have also been there for the bad times ( Cardiff away 3-0 Chopra taking his boot off in front of us, Cardiff home 6-0 ) my support doesn't waver, i believe in backing the players and managers we have. I've even gone as far to tell people to 'quiet down' over remarks about Lee Johnson, their wearing the red shirt so lets get behind them!

I try to get to as many games as possible but i do play football aswell so i do find it hard sometimes.

My expectations for this season is to keep Nicky Maynard sign a couple of players (please) and i genuinly believe we could get up around the playoffs, automatic promotion is a step too far but the playoffs is realistic.

I really do think that after i finish playing football there is only one thing i could do on a Saturday and that will be to follow City home and away and cheer on the redmen!

I believe i no the answer to this question already but, do you think you can follow two teams? and does it bother you that this so called "out of towner" with previous loyalties is attending your games?

Brought up in Bristol, spent 9 years in Sheffield and now over 30 years in Cardiff, but still a red through and through, although I do have a soft spot for Sheff Utd but dislike Cardiff intensely (may be the hatred shown to us) but also have a best mate who was an Everton supporter but since moving to Cardiff is a committed CCFC supporter. No hard and fast rules, depends on individual and as Banksy, would welcome anyone who wants to support the reds.

Nope doesn't bother me, I follow two teams as well with the other being Wigan Athletic and seen a few games with them when they were in the old division 2 and 3 because my mums side of the family all live their and that's the reason they are my "second" team

Nice post Scouse <ok> More than happy to have another member of The Red Army even if you may talk a bit funny! It's easy to understand you adopting us as your second club whilst in search of your football fix and long may it continue. Glad you enjoyed The East End that day, it's quite a unique stand in the Championship and is sure to deliver a great atmosphere (probably at the cost of the view)

Welcome to the red army my young scouse friend, Personally only ever been 1 love in my life. I remember as a a teenager getting into many rows at temple meads with the platforms full of man united shirts liverpool shirts spurs and arsenal, i tried in vain to convince these guys that if they joined us at ashton gate we would have the crowds producing the income that would allow city to buy better players and eventually climb the league. Ive been to many games with mates at spurs and chelsea and just cant get into the atmosphere, it means nothing because its not city! 1 team 1 love 1 life!!!!

Went to Stamford Bridge a couple of years back with a mate who had a spare for Chelsea vs Ipswich in 3 rnd FA Cup. Don't get me wrong I had a really good day, but the result meant nothing at all (except wanting my mate to go home happy...he's from London and has always been Chelsea). Some of the Cockernees were quite funny singing songs about fertiliser and stuff, not many though, but it was the Ipswich fans who were having the best time.

My mate has since said that he sometimes wishes for the days when Chelsea weren't all that on the pitch, had crowds a bit bigger than we get now but had a good atmosphere........I'll bring him down the Gate next season for a game or two

I've been wondering that scouser - maybe they're all down the club shop waiting for the new season smocks to come in. Give 'em time eh?

On the dual club front and the mention by someone of Chelsea, I watched them from '73 to '76 when doing some of my student apprenticeship in SW3. Just caught the back end of the magical Osgood era before him and Sexton fell out and he was packed off to the Saints.

That was a great time at the Bridge, and watching it from the Shed for the first time was awesome for a lad just turned 17 - the memories never leave you. I was brought up by my dad and uncle Jim on the Ninian Park terraces from about the age of 8 and Cardiff are the only club for me. However, I can't forget those Chelsea days, and I still follow them if not support them.

If we're name dropping here (we are aren't we?:emoticon-0105-wink:), a regular on the terracing under that corrugated tin roof was Dennis Waterman with a bunch of his mates. He was a great laugh and was supposed to be a Fulham supporter for the Sweeney series he'd just started...and he bloody hated them...<laugh>
