Bristol City fans have their say on how the club improves next season
    Player recruitment is the key!

Our annual end-of-season Bristol City survey saw more than 900 supporters offer their verdicts about the Robins, Lee Johnson and how the club is being run.

We will be bringing you the results throughout the next few weeks.

We asked Bristol City fans what is the most important factor in City improving next season. And a vast majority of you believe there is a need for far better recruitment this upcoming season, with 64% of the voting in this category.

The Robins signed Famara Diédhiou from Angers last summer for around £6 million and he provided good value scoring 13 goals in the Championship.

Eros Pisano was also brought in on a free, alongside Luke Steele which was good business. However, the likes of Jonathan Leko, Cauley Woodrow, Loïs Diony and Ryan Kent were allloan signings, all underperforming at Ashton Gate.

Niclas Eliasson too who was transferred in from Norrköping has not adapted to the league.Between these five signings, just two goals were scored last season, both by CauleyWoodrow.

It’s evident that improvement is needed in this department, after Robins fans have been treated to players such as Tammy Abraham, Jonathan Kodjia and Jamie Paterson in previous years.

Some 9% of you want new tactics to be deployed next season.

Bristol City started off the Championship season magnificently and even found themselves top dogs at one point, however a huge dip in results throughout the middle of the season meant that the club finished in 11th.

A reason for this could be deemed as teams around them suddenly understood how to deal with Lee Johnson’s tactics.

There didn’t seem to be a ‘Plan B’ which fans want to see next season. A similar proportion of fans want young players to make the step up.

Lloyd Kelly particularly impressed featuring 14 times in Johnson’s squad.

Zak Vyner also played well whilst on loan at Plymouth Argyle and picked up the Young Player of the Year accolade.

Johnson has been looking to implement both this season and next and the youngsters could feature regularly with a good pre-season

Yet, this may not happen if the Bristol City manager moves on this summer.

About 4% of you think it is highly important for Steve Lansdown to keep Johnson’s services here at Ashton Gate.

Only player power kept Johnson from moving to the Baggies according to reports, with West Bromwich Albion, Swansea City and Stoke City amongst the jobs becoming available.

I have just picked the bones out of the above report and it makes quite interesting reading ~

    * 900 people took part in the survey.
    * 60% voted for better recruitment.
    * 9% voted for new tactics ( No plan B).
    * 4% voted most important to keep LJ.
    * Only player power kept LJ from moving to WBA.

If true there are some very important facts coming out, with regard to LJ, like I said I've only picked out the bones of the report, interesting reading nevertheless.

WBA players wanted to keep the manager and hoping he can take them back up.

Roy of the Rover's mum told me that he wouldn't entertain any offer from top English clubs because he wants to see his career out playing for Bridgwater Town. Frankly starting to get tired of the same corporate waffle coming out of players and clubs and do they really think we are dumb enough to believe it all, and they probably do, and there lies another problem and it's called honesty.

I don’t know which bullshit grates more; that from the club, or opinions from ‘fans’ dressed as facts.
Basically, believe NOTHING and you won’t be fooled.

There’s always lots of rumours around this time of the year, whilst it can be fun to speculate it’s always best to believe nothing until it’s announced officially
