Leading Championship striker hails Bristol City duo as best in the league over Leeds United, Aston Villa and Middlesbrough men Great recognition for star Robins duo. Bristol City's central defensive duo are the toast of the Championship. That's according to one of the league's leading marksmen. Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie has named Adam Webster and Tomas Kalas as the best central defenders in the whole of the Championship. That's some accolade for the two players who only joined up at Ashton Gate in the summer. McBurnie has netted 16 times in the league this season but explained that Webster and Kalas had hardly given the forward a sniff at goal in the two matches between both sides, with the Robins of course winning 2-0 in BS3 and 0-1 over in South Wales. Webster and Kalas have helped the side from Ashton Gate to tighten up at the back this season - so much so that Lee Johnson's team now sits as the third best defence in the league this term, with only Middlesbrough and Sheffield United having conceded fewer goals. And that comes after the sale of talisman Aden Flint during last summer. He wrote: 'The two centre half’s at Bristol City, Kalas and Webster best partnership for me I didn’t get a [nose emoji]'. So Aden Flint and Daniel Ayala can move over, as can Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper, and even United's John Egan and Jack O'Connell, with the latter of the two Blades linked with Premier League clubs. Robins supporters have been quick to tell club CEO Mark Ashton to get a wriggle on and sign up Kalas to a deal permanently. Bristol City can further improve their defensive record if they can successfully shut out Leeds United on Saturday. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...ng-championship-striker-hails-bristol-2606603
Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie gaining some brownie points, maybe we ought to be looking at him with a serious view.
Then its the full backs, keepers and midfield/forwards not tracking back fault that our record is worse Simple!
