Hi Bristol City fans, I was amazed this morning, apart from waking up I looked out of the window of my bolt hole, hidden down here in the depths of Cornwall and guess what, the sun is shining for 5 minutes, the sea is washing up on the shoreline and the gulls are still bombing my car with what remains of yesterdays feast. All of this and we only managed a point at Nottingham Forest, we are out of the playoffs, Lee Tomlin missed a penalty but we are stii 10th and amazingly life still carries on. 2 subjects to kick off with today. *LJ said, "It's just speculation. I'm very happy here. I’ve got two years left of my contract and it's a brilliant club,” he said. “It’s a project and I'm already looking forward to next season.” https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...&utm_campaign=google_news&utm_content=sitemap * Nathan Baker was knocked out like he took a punch from Tyson Fury says manager https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/nathan-baker-knocked-out-like-1512247
LJ says on BCFC O/S ~ The head coach told BCTV: " We are disappointed from where we have been but there has been progression both on and off the pitch at this football club and that's what we want. "We will continue and I am already excited about next year." https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/johnson-has-his-sights-on-201819-season/ Pretty clear where LJ will be next season.
£10m for Reid rumour. Premier League side “mad keen” on Bristol City striker journalist says Bristol City midfielder Bobby Reid (14) in action during the EFL Sky Bet Championship match between Norwich City and Bristol City at Carrow Road, Norwich, England on 23 September 2017. Photo by Simon Davies. According to The Sun’s football reporter Alan Nixon, Premier League side Bournemouth are “mad keen” on snapping up Bristol City’s exciting forward Bobby Reid. From behind his protected Twitter account (tweet below), Nixon says that Bournemouth are going Cherries picking at the Robins and are looking to bring Reid aboard for their Premier League campaign next season. please log in to view this image Bournemouth currently sit in a mid-table 12th position on 38 points and, whilst safety isn’t guaranteed, they look set for another season playing in English football’s top-tier competition. Nixon says that Bournemouth are looking to shed “one or two” players for next season, and that they are interested in Reid as he “plays their way.” The 25-year-old Bristolian has had a breakout season this Sky Bet Championship campaign, scoring 19 goals and providing seven assists in 44 games for the Ashton Gate side. He is a player with pace to burn and obviously has a goal in him. This is likely something that Bournemouth have taken stock of in a strike force that has struggled to provide a consistent threat in front of goal. Topping the scoring charts at the Vitality Stadium have been Joshua King and Callum Wilson with seven goals apiece. Veteran striker Jermain Defoe has weighed in with four goals. Reid is likely seen as an upgrade over that trio, but Nixon has warned that he won’t come cheap for the Cherries. By his reckoning, the Premier League side will be looking at having to fork out a fee in the £10 million range to acquire the services and goals of Bobby Reid. http://the72.co.uk/101252/premier-league-side-eye-bristol-city-striker-journalist-says-10m-range/
Hello mate, I've got a static a bit further down in Perranporth, not in the big park on the cliff but a smaller, quiet, private site just outside , fabulous.
As much as Reid is incredibly pivotal to us at the moment, £10m for a player with only a year left on his contract wouldn't be bad business at all. If it's an inevitability that he will go, then it's sad to say it but we must surely cash in on him at that price.
I agree its good business. We have enough strikers on the payroll. Bobby has had excellent season in his new role but there is always a chance that he may be a one season wonder. We've seen strikers in the past have a great season when they are virtually unknown (as Bobby was this season) but they find it difficult to follow up as opponents swat up on how to play them. Not saying this will happen to Bobby but I happily take 10million for him with a year left and thus negating the one season wonder risk
I’d rather be signs for us but I’d also prefer £10m than someone on the books who’s heart is elsewhere and will walk on a free in 1 years time.
If he doesn't sign a new contract , we should sell him to the highest bidder , approx £10m would be a good deal in the circumstances.
