Bristol City have now bid £1 million for Dack. Looks like we will struggle to keep hold of Dack but we must keep him till end of season at least. Don t think Scally will accept this offer,he will want more. If Dack does go to City can we have Freeman please. He would be ideal replacement.
Do you believe everything you read in the Daily Mail ? According to their report Steve Cotterill is still their manager !!
I'd be very, very disappointed if Dack went to Bristol City even for that price tag, have you a link to this bid news? I've expected for many months now for Dack to go, Bristol City were furthest from what I believe was going to happen and the price tag attached. If Scally is really serious about Championship football and i still remember the 5 year dream (how long ago was that now) this is not the way to progress. Gillingham are well in for a play-off place, while Bristol City are the wrong end of the table for teams we would replace, this would just be crazy for Dack or more Mr Scally to even accept. Let's put it another way, if Mr Scally sells Dack to Bristol City then he might as well go stick his head where the sun don't shine as far has I'm concerned and i've always been a supporter of the Chairman. Patience will pay dividends, a fast million bucks is not the way to achieve his aim.
Never believe what that rag says, they post stories when they've found posts on fans forums and use them as there own
Would be crap for Gills, and even more so for Bradley Dack. It would be a nonsensical situation and show zero ambition for either.
I am glad that Dack doesn't seem to be affected by the speculation surrounding him. His performances have been consistently good - and he seems to have cut out the rash challenges he made every week ( cue his booking No 10 on Saturday ). I hope that Dack is thinking sensibly about his next move. I hope he's receiving good advice about the destination and timing. I hope he remembers he has a lot of time on his side - and not forget the opportunity Gills gave him when he was discarded by Millwall. Dack ( and hopefully Gills ) is in a win / win situation. If we get promotion, Dack could stay with us in the Championship - and further his career, before moving 'up.' At that point his value will dwarf the £1 M bid. Or he could choose to move in the summer - in which case, because of promotion, his value will have risen considerably. If we don't achieve promotion, Dack ( for the sake of his career ), needs to move on. And despite not getting promoted, his value will not decrease from it's current level. In the mean time we will have the benefit of his services - without which you can forget any idea of play offs, let alone promotion. Now is not the time for Gills to 'cash in' on Dack. As for Bradley - I would urge him to ponder on my thoughts, be patient, and give Gills another 4 and a bit months.
Just to add more to Tommy's commemt... This story in the Bristol Post has been copied from the Daily Mail story. The Bristol Post has a habit of doing that. They will amend the original story and put their own spin on it. Not proper journalism.
I would say this link with an actual interview with Justin Edinburgh confirming that we've rejected 3 bids from Bristol City is more credible: http://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/sport/gills-snub-city-approach-59466/
I think Always is as dodgy as the Mail, "discarded by Millwall" unlike you to make such a careless mistake Always.
Thanks grumpygit - I should have said Charlton - I had been reading about the impending ( now permanent ) sale of Matt Jarvis ( originally discarded by Millwall ) , to Norwich- but nevertheless, I was wrong in mixing up the original club name - if not correct in the principle that Dack owes Gills a favour - and asking him to hold on to the end of the season isn't asking for much.
What makes me laugh with the Dack/Bristol City bid is the usual rubbish that is spouted following it. I generally try and take a look round other forums of the opposition to gauge opinions, knowledge and any facts. The latter generally being one much in short fall, for example I saw one comment where Dack was alleged to have been seen at the BC training ground on a couple of occasions, I just find it amazing in that with modern technology and where most football players can't even have a pee without someone photographing them and uploading it to social media, that both these visits of Dack were in the absence of a single IPhone or Andriod, jeez devices aren't what they once were
According to Gillsconnect......improved offer to 1.5 million for 'the best midfield player in league one'. Still way short of his value and for a team that is hardly setting the Championship alight. If he went, I believe it would be a mistake on his part as he is better than that.
Not sure if he is coming or not,but if the funds are right and he wants out then he will come. Remember a 27000 stadium is being finished for next season. The club is preparing for the next level and a very very wealthy owner in Steve Lansdown who is a city fan.
Preparing for the 'next level' in league one with a 27,000 capacity stadium....Mmmmm. Obviously the crowd will sound bigger as the echo will amplify the noise!! Seriously though, good luck for the rest of the season but you'll have to do without Dack.
I think the fact that Dack has already told Edinburgh but that Bristol City wouldn't be the right move for himself, should put to bed those rumours. Also Brizzle have signed Lee Tomlin on loan from Bournemouth so hopefully they've given up.
