Competition - Sky Bet Championship Venue - Ashton Gate Date - 29 October 2022 Kick off - Midday Following their deserved home victory against Cardiff, next up for Russell Martin’s rapidly improving Swansea squad, is a tricky looking trip up the M4 to play Bristol City. Having claimed the first ever league double in the fixture's history last season, Russell Martin's side became the first to win three successive league derbies since the clubs' first meeting in 1912. Goals from Ollie Cooper and Michael Obafemi sealed their latest victory. Cardiff's hopes of restoring some derby pride were undermined by Callum Robinson's foolish red card in the 7th minute. The forward's dismissal, for throwing the ball at Ben Cabango's face, left Cardiff a man light for 83 minutes - and the Swans pressed home their advantage as they triumphed with something to spare. It was another painful derby day for Cardiff, whose dreadful recent record in the game that matters most to supporters of both clubs continued. The fact that Cooper was rejected on a number of occasions as a youngster by Cardiff, for whom his father Kevin used to play, only served to add to the visitors' misery. The Swans' seventh victory in nine Championship games lifted them to fourth - the highest position of the Russell Martin era - while Mark Hudson's Cardiff stay 20th after a third successive defeat, failing to score on each of those games. The day before the Swans beat the Bluebirds, Mamadou Loum and Andy Carroll scored second-half goals to give Reading victory over Bristol City in a rather tepid encounter. Loum met a Tom Ince corner at the near post and his header beat Max O'Leary in the City goal. Former Newcastle, Liverpool and England striker Carroll then struck deep into stoppage time to seal the points as he was teed up by Shane Long and calmly rolled the ball home. There was otherwise little action of note as Mark Sykes and Rob Atkinson went close for City. Bristol City Manager, Nigel Pearson, said "I'm not going to make excuses, it was a very average performance with not a lot of things to be positive about. "We were very sluggish, we didn't move the ball quickly enough, out anticipation was poor. "It was just a really disappointing performance all round." The Robins are 13th on 21 points, having played one game more than Swansea. The Swans have played the Robins on 73 previous occasions, winning 23, losing 29 and drawing 21. In the corresponding fixture last season, the Swans ran out 1-0 winners giving Russell Martin his first Championship win as Swansea boss: Turning to Saturday, the Swans are on a bit of a roll and should return to South Wales with at least a point. I’m going for a 2-1 win for the Swans
No reason we can't win.... there's always the possibility of the relapse though.... I'll go for the draw, 1 - 1.
There's been a shortage of carrots in the West country, so I think we should get a result, 1-2 to the Swans.............
“Swansea City wishes to remind supporters that it has a zero-tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour on our official coaches for away matches. The club has seen a rise in incidents since the start of the season, with supporters coming forward to raise complaints relating to behaviour, discriminatory chanting and abuse of those supplying the service. This behaviour affects the enjoyment for many other supporters using the service and, whilst the club has issued several warnings and bans, we will continue to work with the Supporters’ Trust on these matters. The club is working with Turners – our official coach travel service – to now provide stadium personnel and stewards on our coaches for the next three away games, starting with Saturday’s trip to Bristol City. Every adult travelling on these coaches must have a form of ID on them and be able to show a valid match ticket if requested. If behaviour on these services fails to improve and incidents continue to occur then Turners have already informed the club that they would have no hesitation in ceasing the service, which would have a detrimental impact for a lot of our supporters and, in turn, affect the numbers of supporters who travel away. The support given to Russell Martin, his staff and the players this season has been nothing short of incredible, and the club recognises and thanks the vast majority of supporters to continue to impeccably represent our football club and community home and away. The club wants to ensure that everyone who travels via the coach service has an enjoyable experience and gives the team the backing they deserve. But anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.”
Good luck to your Swannies Taff and co. You guys have been on a roll and I think that will continue for the time being. I think you'll win 0-1.

Ryan Manning and Jamie Paterson are back in the Swansea squad following hamstring and groin injuries respectively. Joel Piroe serves the final match of a three-game suspension, while Joe Allen will not play for the Swans before the World Cup with the focus on getting him fit to be part of the Wales squad in Qatar. Liam Walsh remains on the sidelines as he recovers from an Achilles injury.
Swansea City head coach Russell Martin has named an unchanged starting XI for this afternoon’s Championship meeting with Bristol City, as Ryan Manning and Jamie Paterson make their returns from injury on the bench. The Swans boss keeps faith with the same side that started the home wins over Reading and Cardiff for the trip to Ashton Gate. Manning is involved in a matchday squad for the first time since the victory over Sunderland after a hamstring injury, while Paterson is back from a groin injury and in line for a first appearance since the home game against Sheffield United in mid-September. Steven Benda continues in goal with Nathan Wood, Harry Darling and Ben Cabango making up the Swansea back three. Joel Latibeaudiere and Matty Sorinola are the wing-backs, with Jay Fulton and skipper Matt Grimes paired together in midfield. Luke Cundle and Ollie Cooper will provide support to Michael Obafemi in attack. Bristol City: Max O'Leary, Jay Dasilva, Rob Atkinson, Matty James (captain), Alex Scott, Antoine Semenyo, Tommy Conway, Mark Sykes, George Tanner, Nahki Wells, Zak Vyner. Substitutes: Dan Bentley, Joe Williams, Chris Martin, Andy King, Cameron Pring, Sam Bell, Dylan Kadji. Swansea City: Steven Benda; Nathan Wood, Harry Darling, Ben Cabango; Joel Latibeaudiere, Jay Fulton, Matt Grimes (captain), Matty Sorinola; Luke Cundle, Ollie Cooper; Michael Obafemi. Substitutes: Andy Fisher, Ryan Manning, Olivier Ntcham, Jamie Paterson, Liam Cullen, Armstrong Oko-Flex, Kyle Naughton.
Hasn't he learned anything from "keeping faith in the same side"? He should be playing the opposition accordingly. Sorinola's a waste of a spot. Unless RM has something up his sleeve. Can't see us winning this one. Hope I'm wrong, of course.
How many chances do we need in front of goal? Seriously need shooting with our execution and passing, God I could ram a bloody rocket up their collective arse!.....
