Well sadly for us, we fell to a very disappointing 3-0 defeat at Brum ( Well done Douglas, you're better than that). Fortunately Wendy collapsed second half at Reading ( Ho ho ho ) limiting the damage. Reading have proven something of a crap side for us over the years. I've gone to the Madejski several times and have never seen us win there ( missed the 1-0 Steady over headkick game ) so I'm hoping we can put in a good display. Reading were very decent second half vs Wendy. They played good on the deck footy, loved the wide areas and their #11 was very lively. Full backs will need to be on their toes. They did however look very low on confidence, and haven't performed at all well in the past two months. Go 1-0 up and we'll win this I think. Fortunately for us, they have an Fa Cup tie with Walsall Saturday ( I guess could do reserves ) but not the ideal preparation for them for their trip to us. We tend to win Tuesday games at Portman Road, think we'll edge this 2-1. Thoughts?
Think we will lose this 1-0........ We have one or two poor results to come and then we will see another resurgence.
Very Important game this, for the players confidence, the fans, the Club and....for us lot. We need a boost! A real tonic to kickstart our fragile mid-winter Blues..!!
Just read that Gerken is out for a month due to a shoulder injury. Time for Billy to stake his claim to stay between the sticks. http://www.itfc.co.uk/news/article/dean-gerken-2924122.aspx
Bart is the better keeper but he knows that no matter how well he performs, Gerks will walk straight back in once fit! He is one of Micks favs after all
Haha disastrously by the looks of things Not a fan of either keeper both bloody average and an area we need to work on. That said Gerken had been performing very well thank you, so it's a shame. We have Jerome training with us, and a former Arsenal lad linked. With Oar/ Parr going ( can't say I'm bothered about either leaving Oar couldn't stay fit and Parr was rubbish this season ) we need one more in. People may laugh at the signings of Digby / Foley but sometimes worth a go. Foley won't play much and Digby apparently has talent so may work out better at a new club.
Scrappy match, I imagine. Hopefully we've learnt our lessons from the corresponding fixture when we repeatedly got hit on the counter attacks. Bearing that in mind, 1-1.
I didn't realise until I read Phil's preview on TWTD we've won our last 15 in a row on a Tuesday night at Portman Road. Lets make it 16. COYB.
Ha bloody ha Spanish, and it aint even that time of the day yet! If.....a Big If...we do get to score 1st for once, I see us winning this one...and all being hunky, chummy, bleedin dory once more! And MM saying I told you so. Optimist says 2-1. COYBs...lets rip up the famous PR turf and shock us all!
