...With all these rumours linking us with anyone who can kick a ball, do you think our bunch of talented youngsters will get over looked? Towards the end of the season Flanagan, and Robinson looked the part for the future. Whilst if Martin Kelly had stayed fit, he would have walked PFA young player of the season. Will these lads, get a chance to shine next season? Will the likes of Coady, Morgan and Sterling get a chance? So much seems to be, being made of transfers in and out. When the future success of the club could literally be under Kenny's nose.
Kenny's no mug when it comes to bringing youth in. I have complete faith (in this area more than any other) that he'll make sure the talent is not wasted. Look at last season and the youth he used.
Absolutely they will get a chance. You saw how KK brought them through towards the end of last season and they certainly didn't let anyone down.I can see them both getting quite a few games this year esp in Carling cup. However I think they are a season or two away from being first team regulars and we do need proven quality in certain areas.I think KK is looking to get that blend of youth, quality and experience.....a little like (whisper it) manure did all those years ago when the great Alan Hanson said 'you won't win nothing with kids!!' I would love to see Sterling given a chance though, never seen him play but the reviews are very exciting.
If Kenny is setting the tone for his summer spending by buying potential in the form of Henderson then it is very likely that our home-grown youngsters will be given thier chances during the coming season. However, I am certain that he wants to avoid the situation that he faced last season were he was forced to play them week in and week out.
I really believe our youth development and i'm not usually so quick to back us in this area. Some Liverpool fans have gone on about our kids for years and i'm not knocking that as it's right to back your club no matter what, however some of the youngsters over the last 5 years who were supposed to be world beaters were far from it. Now the current crop since Borrell and a year before he arrived are something to talk about, Sterling is going to be regular in our first team within 2 years, Suso will also make that step up within that timescale. Robinson, kelly and Flanagan will play important parts next season and Coady will start to make appearances.
IMHO i don't think Flanagan will make it at LFC, i can see morgan, sterling, coady, suso and robinson all making the grade though
Kenny has brought youth through in the past he has the eye for talent I remember a certain Rush and Nicol were not older then 19 when Kenny brought them to Liverpool and look how they turned out Kenny knows what he is doing and i have faith in him
Hmm- think you may need to check your dates on that one, mate. I think some bloke called Paisley might have been in charge.
