    We had a sunday school teacher called Sister Goodchild, an Anglican nun, at St Luke's in Princess Drive when I was a kid. She was talking about the Nativity and I, a snotty eight-year old who was only there because the Scouts said I had to be, simply stated that my dad said the star was probably a supernova or a comet. She glared at me and hissed "Is it your father or your mother who is half-Chinese? In this country we don't question the Bible".
