No. Simple as. I cannot see us scoring at present and with Brighton's good form, I think they have the points nailed on. .......blimey - am I really that pessimistic?.......yes. Yes I am. P.S - Dev - it's "anything" not "any-thing"
I'm with Mike, we won't get anything on the pitch. We could try and pinch something out of the changing room though, while the games on.
That's a bit harsh fishy, shaking hands with your opponent and the odd scuffle on the pitch is safe football. I think you will be lucky to pick up points in any of your games. Birch is doing all the right things to keep your club afloat and if you had him a lot earlier he would have sold your big earners and brought in cheaper players who would have had a chance to get to know each other and play as a team with all to gain, rather than a team not knowing who will be sat next to them in the changing room next week.
I am trying to remain optimistic in all our games, Brighton are good at home but they have weaknesses...........and the atmosphere is none to clever either. What ever the result, I will be there this avo singing the chimes, supporting Appy and the lads.......who else will be there? BP
Would not miss it for the world Devo, this is our second derby game, i think we have a real chance of nicking something here. I have watched a few brighton games this season, the atmosphere is rubbish compared to most grounds we go to.......its a fantastic stadium, it loks sweet, but their fans songs are just pitiful! If we have a good crowd there today singing our chimes, they will wobble! Come on the Pompey faithful............we need to be loud for 90 mins plus the world is watching remember! PUP...PPU BP
As I said the other day i can't see us winning another game. To be honest i wouldn't really miss alot of them (except Henderson, Pearce and Huseklepp), but i hope we keep Futacs.
From the highlights it looked like you were unfortunate to lose Portsmouth. Thought you should have had a penalty and the first Brighton goal came form a dubiously 'won' free kick, although Ashdowns positioning was poor.
That's the kind of poor luck which will ultimately relegate us .. 1898; I agree- its hard to see who we could actually beat, we will probably finish last in the division- the teams around us, (Notts Forrest, Doncaster, Bristol City), are all picking up form
I watched for me the worst performance by a referee in ages......most likely for years. I really do believe that he is either blind and needs to wear glasses, stupid and does not know the game......or more likely is part of the FL underworld determined to see us faulter in every way! Now, before those that were never at the match, jump in and ridicule me.......I am not using the old, "bad workman blame their tools type lines"........he really was poor. We were dreadful for the first 15 - 20 mins and were lucky not to be 2 down from the off........one of their strikers had been put on "get halford off duty" and it nearlly worked but for Appy swapping him to the other side..........the ref though bought every single dive, push and tug. He missed several hand balls.....one of which should have resulted in a pen for us second half, he missed futacs being shoved over and then gave the gulls a free kick which should never have been.......and their first goal. Their second goal resulted from Lualua handlng the ball to keep it in touch! I have not seen any comments on the ref....MR Dean, but I would love to hear or read his match report.......because I can only imagine his answers would be that "I did not see it......nope did not see that either" in which case I would be right........he does need glasses! His officials were not much btter often getting decisions wrong..........and when your up against it.....we really dont need officials compounding the situation. PUP
