    Team News:

Further to injuring his right knee during Sunday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur, assessments and scans have confirmed that Granit Xhaka suffered a significant injury to his medial knee ligament.

A specialist consultation took place in London on Tuesday evening which has determined that Granit does not require surgery. Granit’s recovery and rehabilitation programme will start immediately and we are aiming for him to be back in action in approximately three months. Everyone at the club will now be supporting and working hard with Granit to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible.

All other players in the men’s first team squad are currently fit and available for selection.

    Interesting match for me this.

My home town vs The Club I grew up supporting.

Arsenal need the win - gotta build some momentum after the Spurs game.

I would like to see the same side we fielded against Spurs but Lokonga replacing Xhaka.

Need to keep Maupay quiet and continue with the high press from the front - I hope Auba plays like he did last week as he was immense

Not a good first-half. I think we’re lucky it’s still 0-0. Brighton have totally swarmed us, counterpressed well, forced the turnovers when we’re in possession and we’ve struggled to retain the ball.

Aubameyang was unlucky with his chance that hit the outside of the post, but he’s been shocking that half.

Tomiyasu though. This is the worst performance I’ve seen from him. Been ran absolutely ragged by Cucurella.

We’ve been dominated. Need to control the ball better and move it so much quicker.

We’re still relying on Saka and ESR to take on their entire team and set someone up. We need to stop the reliance on these two and have other players step up.

    Ah well.

Not the best performance but difficult conditions against a decent side.

    0-0. FT.

The positives are that we didn't lose and getting an undeserved draw, you can argue, is a sign of our character.

Lucky to get a point overall. Saying that, we did have the best two chances of the game, but would have been daylight robbery based on the overall 90 minutes. We were too timid in possession, kept going long when we didn't need to and we didn't press them or push them back.

Obviously conditions weren't ideal, but it was the same for both teams. Didn't create or dominate enough. Lacked that incisive pass.

Brighton looked so much more sharper and comfortable in what they were doing. Potter really is a top coach. He's done a tremendous job there.

We have a young team, so blips are to be expected, but for those who were getting carried away after the NLD, I hope this has brought them back down to earth. We have a long, long way to go.

On the downside I thought Auba was poor again yesterday. Too laid back at times and lost alot of duels just through being too casual.
