It's that poxy high defensive line. Oh, wait... Seriously though, friendly results are irrelevant and football league teams are generally a little ahead in their preparation, as their season starts earlier. They'll be a lot more motivated for a game like that, too. Wouldn't give it too much consideration.
Why, on earth, does anyone give a flying **** about pre season results? I seriously pity those who do. Nothing counts, nobody tries anywhere near as hard as a real competitive game, it's all about fitness and practice - **** the result. Any **** coming on here wumming the results of a pre-season game is a complete and utter ***got who needs a life.
While the result doesn't particularly matter it cant do moral much good. FYI: I'm not a ***got, but the bloke that sucks my cock is !
Yep I watched it all with the Dfer chit chatters in US and far east. It was a real easy friendly, hardly a tackle, although someone should of told Bridcutt and Luiz this. Was a bit miffed at Lamps for sticking up for an over dramatic Luiz holding his face. I wanted to slap Luiz too. Three Brighton goals were near enough all gifts, Raul's being far the worst. Brighton looked sharper all match, for them we are a big match. Looking at the Chelsea players as they played you could see they didn't give a monkey's. Friendly match and all but it was obvious we still move too slow in transition from defence to attack when either building from the back on countering. Midfield is our big problem area. Too many touches taken, not enough skill to control the ball and look up quite often. I'd have the whole team on a short pitch playing game after game of two touch five a side. The other big problem, and is a big one, is we don't have a class set piece taker. We are going to be in many matches where set pieces are going to be the only difference between the teams. Our corners are well below average our FK's are frankly a joke. I can't remember last time we scored a direct free kick (this is your cue to tell me). If we did they weren't that remarkable. To cap it all Team GB went out against S.Korea cos Sturridge missed his pen. Your honour I rest my case. I don't know what we are going to do about the set piece other that to give Cech a try or someone like Cahill, Ash or Mikel. Maybe one of the new boys can stand up to Frank and tell him to get lost at FK's.
I'm not here to scoff, lads. You know I would never do that. But I will remind you about what I said regarding RDM, and how much I fear for him in this coming season. He's out of his depth, quite clearly, and I'd put money on him to be out of a job come the New Year. He might just last that bit longer than Rodgers, but I really do think you guys are in for a very dull season. I hope I'm wrong, I really do.
It now boils down to expectation. Now we have won the CL which was apparently the Holy Grail for Roman will he allow time for a manager to restructure the team and maybe a season or two with no major achievements bar CL qualification. I’d like to think yes but I really don’t know
2 things stood out to me in the game. Hazard and Lamps shouldn't play together. Hazard had to play on the left more than down the middle and he wasn't happy and kept coming inside and Lamps was already there. Got in each others space. We do need a specialist on the wing and not Ramires. Maybe Marin will work on the right with Mata more on the left.
