Considering he moved up to the premiership, played in a team for the first time in probably the most intimidating atmosphere there is I thought he was immense. He was never out of control, broke up play when required passed the ball around accurately. I loved his attitude when in the second half he brought Sissoko diwn who then squared up to him; twice the size and weight of the lad but Bridcutt just looked him in the eye and smiled........ class
looked nervy in the first 10 minutes with a few wayward passes, after that he listened to JOS and Brown tentitavaly and on occasions instructed them as a holding mid should. impressive debut, liked what i saw today
Probably the biggest debut you'll ever be thrust into. Well played sunshine. Him, Ki and Colback were fantastic today, along with the rest of the team.
He was tidy today in front of the defence. Bit early to say he is the dogs bollocks, but a very good debut. To be fair, to be given your debut against the mags, away, is a big thing and the lad did well
For a debut in the Premier League and to be thrown into the best derby in England, the lad looked composed and effective. That's all you can ask really. I do think though, that because he was so effective and his team mates realised that, it allowed Ki, Colback etc to put in the performance they did.
I will need to see him play more than one game to make a decision on him. He looked good at times but also looked bad at times. If Catts had gave away those fouls he did edge of our box, some would have been screaming for his head. So lets see after a few games, see how he handles better players after all he only had **** in front of him today.
I was a bit concerned giving the lad a start in a big game like today , but Gus knows what the lad can do and Bridcutt knows what Gus wants from him. Bargain.
The lad did very well I was impressed. Can't remember who it was but one of the posters on here said he wasn't good enough for the prem and we should not sign him. Well After being thrown in the deep end away to newcastle he took it all in his stride. Some ones going to be eating some humble pie.
They were getting shots away from out front though mate, luckily the ones shooting were ****. We can't allow the better teams to do that, which is something I still believe Catts is one of the best in the league at, getting in players faces to harry them. I really enjoyed Bridcutt laughing in Amoeba's chest, (rather than his face. ) when Amoeba was whining. As I say I will form any opinion on him after a few more viewings. The young Colback was getting out muscled too easily in there when Catts was out. Colback is now coming into his own further forward and stands his ground much better.
You're right mate, that's what makes him a bargain. Players like Wickham coming in are a risk because we don't know their attitude or ability to train well and apply themselves. Bridcutt was virtually risk free and cheap at the price.
