Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce was surprised to see Liam Bridcutt turn up for training on Thursday as he thought he had left the club. The midfielder was thought to be close to agreeing a deal to move to Elland Road on loan but Allardyce has cast doubts on the possible switch saying the deal itself "is confused - like Leeds United". Allardyce thought a transfer was in the process of being finalised and could not explain what held up the deal, although there are reports that other Championship clubs are said to be interested. Allardyce said: "It looks like it's confused, like Leeds seem to be. "It doesn't look like it's going through because he turned up here for training. I'll have to pick the phone up and speak to Steve Evans about it." - See more at: https://www.clubcall.com/sunderland/allardyce-on-midfielders-move-1787940.html?#sthash.vakBh5NC.dpuf

Not sure what to make of this - I thought it was obvious, with the Cattermole injury, that Bridcutt would be hanging around a little longer - now he's no Cattermole but, let's be honest, he's no worse than Rodwell! But it's a little worrying that the manager doesn;t know or hasn;t been told by anyone that a player isn;t leaving when he thought he was. Hope it's not one of the board meddling in team affairs as that will only end up one way!

he certainly isn't !! had a couple half decent games.

Rodwell on the other hand has been SHOCKING!! and i would imagine on a damn site more. His only salvation is converting back to CB and playing a blinder

Let's hope your wrong - maybe its just the emotional trauma of missing game today - I really like Bridcutt cool , calm and quite handy but not a physical prescence - far far .... better in midfield than Rodwell - such a let down - we been congered there £9 million <doh>

Compairing Bricutt and Rodwell is like compairing celery and olives.

Both ****e and a waste of time. Just olives cost more.
