Former Ipswich Town goalkeeper Brian Murphy has penned a two-year deal at Loftus Road. The 28 year-old custodian, who has impressed whilst on trial during pre-season, will provide competition for current number one Paddy Kenny and experienced shot-stopper Radek Cerny. Good player?
Hopefully better than Cerny. The prospect of Kenny getting injured and Cerny being between the sticks in the Premiership doesn't bear contemplating.

You need three senior keepers for the Premier League and we've got that now. "Brian has had a super couple of weeks with us and was instrumental in us winning the Cup in Italy. "He is a very capable understudy to Paddy, so him and Radek will offer great competition for the coming season. "It was great to be able to have a good look at him before he signed. He fitted in so well with the rest of the squad during pre-season, and I could tell within two days that he was the one for us. "His attitude is first class and he's got great mobility. He's got everything that we need." Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Murphy - who will wear the number 26 shirt - added: "It is great to be here. I am really looking forward to the new season and working with the goalkeepers. "Since I have been here I have enjoyed it, and I think I have done okay. The Manager and the coaching staff seem pleased so I am just delighted to have my future sorted out. "I am here to work hard, and anything extra will be a bonus. I want to be in that 18-man squad every week, but I know every player here wants the same thing. "It is going to be a massive season for the Club and one that I am looking forward to being a part of."
He is a good player. I used to see him play over here in the Lge of Irl. Still, its a pity they didn't get rid of Cerny when they had the chance
Can we also sign up a MurhpyBurphy to this board to replace CernyBerny who no longer cuts its in my opinion.
Saw him play once. He is a good keeper. Pretty tall and can command his area well. Has been in and out of the Irish Squad depending on injuries. About 5 years ago he was seen as having massive potential. Is more than capable of making the step up me thinks
I'm a little worried that his best days are behind him. Thought he was brilliant back then, putting in some sublime performances opposite Yootha Joyce in George & Mildred and Man About The House....
@MonkeyPicks Monkey QPR have signed goalkeeper Brian Murphy. Can't wait to hear the Loft Boys sing "one George Roper, there's only one George Roper...". #QPR
