Alright guys. I know Howard wasn't with you too long but what impression did you get about him as a player. We're in need of a creative player who can change the game and pick out that winning pass. So if you can fill me in with what type of player he is and if he's any good that would be great Cheers
Have to say he didn't really live up to expectation for me. Lots of promises when he signed, was made club captain.......but never really stepped upto the plate. I thought he would be a leader, an inspirational player to the lesser experienced.......but all I ever saw was a winger, some one who moaned to the ref at ever opportunity and some one who quite often had tantrams at training............ In essence, mainly due to our situation we needed fighters, we didnt get that.............. I am sure he may be a good player, but when your backs against the wall, all be it in trying circumstances he didnt come through for us and i think the vast majority of Pompey fans don't miss him.
As mentioned above, he was an average performer on the pitch. His free kicks and penalty taking were atrocious. We have a young kid of 18 - Dan Butler - who can take far better free kicks than Howard. You would be far better off without him
It got to the point where it was a relief when he couldn't make the team Down here. However there are a lot of issues with our club and he would have been under far from ideal circumstances here in and off the pitch. so I wouldn't rule him out Altogether.
