Have been seeing reports of the Russian opposed to Putin, Navalny, after allegedly being poisoned by the state. I have doubts about this as the poison allegedly used was Novochek (?) the same as ws used on the Russian double agent in Salisbury. My doubts arise from the fact that, with all their resources, the Russians couldn't come up with a poison that actually worked. In these two highly publicised cases it failed. If they had actually tried it on the spy and found it wanting, why would they try the same thing on Navalny? I know, you may call me a conspiracy theorist, but I refuse to believe everything I read in the press. Ask yourselves: who would benefit from the poisoning of someone who is openly opposed to the Russian leader?
too fkn obvious. You just don’t get this whole conspiracy theory malarkey. Have you never watched a movie? It’ll be some bald bloke stroking a cat, surrounded by scantily clad lovelies, in a city built inside a volcano

Just been reading a bit about the Brexit trade talks and the UK ultimatum to the EU. It seems to me that the EU are desperate. Why can't the UK see that they have the whip hand here? The EU are doing, and have been doing, everything in their power to keep the UK within in the system. They don't want the UK to leave because of what it will cost them. They don't like the UK but are loathe to see them leave the bloc. Why? One has to ask one's self, just how genuine are the UK negotiators. Are they stalling departure because they have vested interests in remaining? How many years has it been now?
When Johnson refers to an Australian type deal with the EU, he means WTO rules doesn't he i.e no deal agreement. Australia is currently negotiating a free trade, Canada style, deal with the EU.
