Dear ——————- I’m proud to officially announce that we’ve concluded our negotiations with the EU and secured a great deal which guarantees our sovereignty. As promised, we have taken back control of our laws, borders, money, trade and fisheries and ended any role for the European Court. Meaning that on 1st January Britain will be a fully independent nation again. please log in to view this image This deal fully delivers on what the British public voted for in the referendum and in last year’s General Election, with: ✅ No role for the European Court of Justice and no requirement to follow EU law ✅ A zero tariff and zero quota arrangement ✅ Recognition of the UK’s sovereignty over our fishing waters ✅ Britain outside the Single Market and Customs Union ✅ Co-operation on law enforcement and emerging security challenges ✅ Protections for the UK’s internal market and Northern Ireland's place within it And this deal will allow us to make 2021 the year we show what Global Britain means to the rest of the world: striking trade deals with new markets, reasserting ourselves as a liberal and free trading nation; and acting as a force for good in the world.
Indeed well done Boris, although late in the day. I work for an international company, as an advisor now. It will not be easy for anyone. Some of the changes may prove to be detrimental but only time will tell if we have achieved the right thing for our futures. Has anyone noticed over the past few weeks the number of references to our growing wine industry? apparently we have a winery making world class bubbly!
Oh dear, seems some still can't get over the result of 2016. No doubt the devil will be in the detail. I accepted the result in the 70's, pity some can't do the same now. If I can get over losing Junior there's hope for all of you.
I'm over losing Junior, I've always thought the Brussels bureaucrats were arseholes and a lost cause, I hope we have a thumping win today..
Was not commenting on Brexit itself???? Not sure why you are claiming that??? I would be grateful if you don't put words in my mouth I was just commenting that there is always a huge "discussion" about fishing, but in terms of GDP it actually means little
It’s not about money really, more about sovereignty, whether you agree it should be is another matter. If it was just about money there wouldn’t be an argument, as you rightly say, in terms of GDP it’s minuscule.
Who doesn't know Fishing is f a in the scheme of things fiscally. RR never mentioned fishing in his bullet points, so why bring it up. Oh yes he did. Why not mention a positive ?
you are correct as far as GDP it is about £600m towards … but should we have to buy our fish in! …….. ? We also now have 25% more of our fish to sell / catch... so a few more jobs … a few more £'s total worth to the HMRC/ TREASURY ...£1BN! ?
