Brave lineup. I was hoping Arteta would give Nwaneri a shot on the right.

No Rice or Havertz in squad.. rumours of illness going through the squad.

We really are lacking forward options! The bench does not hold many options in an attacking sense! COYG!!!

    **** me.

Merino was such an average signing. You have to say Merino for Xhaka was a poor decision by Arteta.

We look like we have FAR less control in midfield with our Rice.

We have nobody in the box - who's upfront Jesus or Martinelli?

Yeah knew this was premature. As soon as we got the equaliser I expected we would go on and score more.

Still hope you are enjoying the watch.

Great finish from Martinelli for the third goal.

    That was an excellent result.

I was really worried about this game, especially as Brentford had the best home form in the league going into this. Yet we swept them aside relatively comfortably.

The goal we conceded was disappointing. Odegaard losing the ball leading to the turnover, Calafiori getting beaten on the inside too easily and Raya reacting too late to Mbuemo's shot (though I think he was unsighted possibly).

But the reaction was superb - glad to see Jesus back on the scoresheet (6 goals in the last 4 games now), Merino getting in on the action and Martinelli getting his 6th of the campaign. We will need these guys to step up in Saka's absence.

The two quick goals we got at the beginning of the second half knocked the life out of Brentford because they didn't seem to play with the same energy or vigor that they'd had before. After that, we just managed the game and saw it out.

Nwaneri - what a top display for a 17-year old on his first PL start. I thought he was excellent. Nice feints and dummies, carried the ball well, nimble feet in tight spaces/under pressure, and showed really good bursts over 3-4 seconds to beat his fullback and put crosses in. Impressive display from the kid.

The only big downside was Timber getting a yellow card, which means he's now suspended for the Brighton game. With White and Tomiyasu already being long-term absentees, we really could have done with our only fit natural right-back not forcing us into a situation where Partey is probably gonna have to deputise. And Partey against Mitoma is not a match-up I'm too keen on...

Great result, but all focus is on Brighton now.
